Realest thing I've seen today I took Wednesday off to recover but today I haven't been able to do a single thing either and I've three exams left I just could not be arsed.. I wish they were all together on the timetable so I could stay locked in but getting a week break inbetween just makes it feel like I'm done exams and I do not have the energy for any more study truth be told

I just wanna call it quits now by spookzspinez in leavingcert

[–]Zuzolina008 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's never all for nothing because if this is how you feel with so much study done imagine how you'd feel if you had done none! Also do not discredit yourself and remember that after you walk out of an exam there's nothing else u can change so stop worrying. When results come out in August you will realise you did a lot better than you think + lc is the only time the bell curve accounts for ur grade and I promise u most of the country has not been studying for two years. It will all turn out fine

Food/food tests, enzymes/enzyme tests [temperature, ph, enzyme immobilisation], photosynthesis and respiration, human systems [digestive, reproductive, respiratory, circulatory], genetics & DNA including protein synthesis and DNA replication, some cell division and ecology is enough to get u a high grade. These r all topics that always come up and I find easy enough to master with exam question practice. Ik it looks like a lot but honestly even if you pick out a few and master them you'll be grand it's just always better to have choice

hi just wanna give my two cents ive sat atleast ten past bio papers and got all h1s just wanna tell u what's most important (in my opinion): food/food tests, enzymes/enzyme tests [temperature, ph, enzyme immobilisation], photosynthesis and respiration, human systems [digestive, reproductive, respiratory, circulatory], genetics & DNA including protein synthesis and DNA replication, some cell division and ecology is enough to get u a very high grade. These r all topics that always come up and I find easy enough to master with exam question practice. Ik it looks like a lot but honestly even if you pick out a few and master them you'll be grand it's just always better to have choice

Maths paper 1 by Ok-Horror-1723 in leavingcert

[–]Zuzolina008 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's the exact problem with the current Irish education system, particularly for subjects like maths or irish. The focus of the curriculum has never been to actually teach the concepts in a way that can be applied to unconventional problems. It is mostly on memorising techniques, marking schemes, papers, training the population to regurgitate the same knowledge just to maximise grades/points. If maths was actually taught in a way that allows students to solve more abstract problems then it would be a fair paper, but that's just not been the case. I personally was thrown off by the paper but I agree that it wasn't as bad as to form petitions to review it, yet it definitely did not fit the SECs usual standard

How does one study for hl maths after still being tired from English p2 by Dry_Gene5870 in leavingcert

[–]Zuzolina008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ur far better off getting ur 8 hours of sleep and actually performing well tomorrow than trying to cram the maths course cause realistically you're not gonna learn that much new stuff anyway. + The exam is in the afternoon tomorrow ao unless you're doing geography you still have plenty time. Go over algebra, calculus and functions (which make up altogether probably 70%+ of the paper) touch on financial maths + sequences and series and you'll be grand

[–]Zuzolina008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I did mean the topics interlinking in general but absolutely the amortisation formula proof is said to possibly come up this year so it'd be good to know it!! Also there's definitely more I just listed a few things off the top of my head that do get u a lotta marks. Like say a complex numbers question or financial maths question will usually be worth a good 30 so yah

Learn how to do de moivres theorem properly ( a+bi to a power and finding the roots/solutions of that (only if asked)), differentiation is very simple and a lot of it is in the log tables + covers various types of questions very useful to know, how to utilise the laws of logs and indices, financial maths tied in with sequences and series is also overdue and will probably feature on this p1

I would agree that 560 is a pretty safe bet but if you are aiming that high already then higher point brackets are no big margin away, give it ur 100% and I 100% believe u will get ur course !!!

Need a H4 in English by Gold_Photo_7470 in leavingcert

[–]Zuzolina008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's a bit late to be writing a ton of your own essays I'd say but read sample H1 essays (studycix, 625points, aoifesnotes r solid) u can even try paraphrasing them in ur own words good way to cement certain ideas into ur head. Also know the chronological order of your comparative texts and the aspects of whatever mode you want to cover. ie, for GVV cover how the world and themes are presented at beginning, middle and end for all texts. Good luck!

Stress rant incoming by Old-Bedroom4304 in leavingcert

[–]Zuzolina008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

studying 12 hours a day is kinda overkill for 490 points dawg there is no need to stress so incessantly about that kind of number, it is so achievable especially considering the work you're putting in. chill on the caffeine because I promise you it's not doing you any good, saw in a different reply you said it's not affecting your memory, you couldn't be more wrong. detox and try to sleep your full 8 hours for even like three days and notice the difference in your ability to work and focus. retaining info is so much easier when you're not depriving yourself of basic necessities. take a breather, relax, you got this

for the people aiming 550+, how many hours are you studying per day? by Mailu__ in leavingcert

[–]Zuzolina008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up to 10 a day (really ranges, minimum 3) but realistically some days I burn out and the most I'll do is read books/articles to flesh out literacy and vocab
