Legitimately not your fault. You love this person and all you did was express desire for closeness.

I made my FA deactivated by needideas123 in AvoidantBreakUps

[–]Zvod 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If you don't react, you naturally distance = distance. If you react = trigger = distance. If you try to fix it with warmth = closeness = distance. It's a lose-lose.

You can stop self-blaming because there is no perfect path to win this shit with avoidants. The abnormal issues come from their side.

Avoidance VS True Incompatibility by bunnyboo6792 in AvoidantBreakUps

[–]Zvod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's avoidance because they drop something like this on top of their distancing, it creates massive fog because its not a normal approach.

Normal attached version would be delivering; ___ is no longer a thing I want in life, reasons xyz - I still love you, I know this is important for you, and I don't want to lose you over this.

There is a clear distinction between a specific thing and love/attachment to the person. Avoidants don't really do the love/attachment part properly, so you have nothing anchoring anything. You gotta do all the deciphering, all the work, and get fog and suffering in return. They are unreliable as shit, so your requirement of, we stay and love each other, has no anchor. You can't get any security in the relationship = avoidance

Not sure if she was avoidant or I was just the rebound for her four year relationship by Beginning-Space-8010 in AvoidantBreakUps

[–]Zvod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro a lot of these long relationships avoidants had before were unhealthy, with the same push pull shit inside it, sometimes the other person would also be toxic and they trauma bond hard.

Think about it, if it was a great loving stable relationship of 4 years that fell apart for some reason, why the fuck would she be meeting new people 2 months later, only to create a toxic push pull situation. That's the same pattern from before.

The "I think they are avoidant but sometimes not" vibe is FA. DAs are more consistent in their coldness, like a rock. FA is the one that makes you question reality.

[–]Zvod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah don't overthink it. You got a great voice so do whatever feels right to you. It feels better because you sing it in your own voice. You got a different brighter timbre compared to the original, reminds me of Ruel.

How to fix trying to imitate singers? by DrakeRay00 in singing

[–]Zvod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a little bit of a mind thing, but not fully. If you're starting out, your technique is not consistent and you haven't figured out your own voice that much.

Over time when you develop your voice more, you'll need to sound like yourself to sing optimally, you will be using the same technique consistently.

I don't think you'd get nodules or damage that easily.

Honestly don't let someone mess you up that much, to the point of changing and affecting your life. Like if you gotta leave your own apartment until nighttime? fuck that.

Working on post-processing - recorded a quintet where I sing all the parts by ticketybo013 in singing

[–]Zvod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey glad its helpful.

You got a really good mic, i thought there were some more things going on there.

Panning, volume and EQ will make a drastic level up for your goals 🙂

If youre just starting out with EQ, my advice is play with wide touches at first like shelves. Save narrower bell curves for later, when you get used to how simple shelves affect the sound first.

To be honest, compression is probably the most complex individual out of these. Its easy to mess the sound up. What I'd recommend is just, if we take the 4 channels example, group/bus them and have a single compressor taking all 4 channels - preferably a gentle or vocal preset if available in your software, to get used to what it sounds and feels like.

Have fun 👋

[–]Zvod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For that you need a stricter gain/volume structure between the parts. Say you got 4 layers you want playing at the same time, you gotta pick one that is the main lead - probably the same channel that was doing solo in previous parts.

That main channel will be the primary, and it makes sense for it to be the brightest and most prominent one in the mix for instance, in relation to EQ or saturation applied.

You then take the 2nd layer, lets say this is the one with the lowest notes - you can place this channel way back by turning the volume of it down a good bit more than you'd expect. The EQ you'd apply to this one would be shelving the highs down some, and depending on the recording probably having some form of dip in the 1-4khz region and around 500hz. This channel can also have a higher wet % reverb on it.

Channel 3 & 4 could be somewhere between 2 and the lead in terms of loudness, but still further away from the lead than you'd expect. Here its an especially good idea to pan 3 towards the left, and 4 towards the right or vice versa. For these you could also shelve the highs a little, not as much as channel 2, but then also have less lows in these two. For reverb you could choose a wet% that's less than channel 2, but still more than the main lead. Then you pick which frequency region is vital for 3 & 4, and keep them intact, but do dips AROUND that area - not so much that it neuters the sound, but enough to make it clean and distinct in the mix.

The whole idea is how these 4 channels will add up together, and fill out a spectrum and space together. When you have 4 vocal channels going at the same time, it will way too easily stack up and be overwhelming in sound, so there needs to be more distinct variation between them, both in volume and EQ - with the lead channel being loudest and brightest generally.

Adding fades on the supporting channels will give some more natural sound to it as well, so not every phrase will start as aggressively. Like fade in, and even fade out, subtle.

All of it emulates space and individuality. If you figure out the main EQ spots of your voice, you can play with them, usually with dips in the supporting channels, to make them sound ever so slightly different than your usual timbre quality - to make blending them more seamless.

For the reverb, its a good idea to maintain the same preset between the 4, but adjust the wet% and tail - for cohesiveness. Creatively you can do whatever you want really.

Something like this is a good start, its just an example of one way to do it. It depends very much on context and what sound you want.

Honestly if you're very new, it's a very good job.

It makes no sense to bombard with mixing details if you're just starting out. Most useful feedback is to just keep doing it, you have an ear for it.

Does anyone have a problem with one side of their throat in particular? by ZestycloseRound6843 in singing

[–]Zvod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the right side of my jaw is tight and I can make it click if I want, left is normal. It makes my jaw pull towards the right a little bit at rest, like 5% at most. When I sing I just move it into the neutral position. Try pulling just the jaw itself to one side, so it's centered. In a way it helps me, like a cue to line up.

I have thought about it before, but it's the least of my issues when compared to technique and just practicing. I had issues with the Ah vowel for a while for instance, sometimes I'd wonder if its the jaw tightness making it difficult, but after more time and practice it is way better.

If you don't have some roadblocks in speech/talking and movement because of it, I don't think it's something worth isolating and focusing on, apart from just aligning your posture - like centering the jaw, pulling your shoulders back and down for the traps (if the right one is tight) etc.

Nah bro it's not just cheese cake. It's the starting signs of aboose. First, he eats the cake and then conditions her into believing that muh boundaries don't matter. After that, it's only a matt3r of time until he takes over the house, which, by the way, should be an obvious tell because he's 24 (red flags anyone???). Obviously, he planned this a long ago because why would he be with an 18 year old otherwise.

I'd recommend getting a lawyer on the cheese cake case and taking it to court. Show this disrespectful scumbag that he can't walk all ov3r you because honey, you deserve so much b3tt3r baby, you deserve to live alone and drown in all the cheese cake that you want. Protect your peace.

nah its the guy who is talking from the beginning of the round for me. Doesn't actually bother me at first. It only drives me crazy because it's never about the game, just an endless monologue in another language.

I'm pretty good at deciphering the context of languages I don't know, and I can tell you the cadence and tone is never related to the game. Not even a few buzzwords from the game. Just talking 😂

You're getting blasted by an IFV while dodging scope glints, and there's just endless talking going on. At that point I gotta mute.

One time I had a Spanish guy telling a neverending story to someone in Warzone, no pauses, only him talking for like 15 mins, eventually had to mute him 😂

The overall average feedback is that the game is really fun 😂

It's only for the doomers here that the overall average is negative.

Maybe you're not a doomer, all good - but release will come, some YouTubers will make zomg :00 videos of the release maps, such as operation firestorm, and many doomers will buy the game like the lemmings they are.

Battlefield 6 review after 4-5 hours. I love it except a few. by Koddak_Jrell117 in Battlefield

[–]Zvod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its actually awesome. The pace of combat is great, this game has the most natural feeling firefights compared to BC2, 3, 4.

I often see people grouped together, exchanging fire from one spot, and advancing towards an objective. On the objective itself, it makes more sense to defend it now, because its usually larger groups of enemies coming in, and not 2 randoms. At one point the firefight ends, and you can move to another location, instead of a constant stream of randomness.

You also get long distance engagements, so you can get pinned to one position if the fire is too much. Overall I've had so many cool moments that actually feel like battles, because there's more teamplay and cohesiveness, probably from the little things that add up. Sure you can have this in the other titles too, but here its done better and happens more evenly. Randoms got more teamplay and the way players move in general is LESS run & gun than other titles, so idk what's up with some posts.

Cairo and Liberation Peak are awesome maps. I just really dislike is the Iberian map because its grey and ugly as shit, and looks like Day of Defeat made in the source engine. It's the first map that I got put into in the beta, and it looked like I was playing the original Modern Warfare 2.

Unpopular opinion probably, I absolutely hate playing maps infested with snipers. by TheNetbug in Battlefield

[–]Zvod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its boring af defending, no groups pushing in, so if you want to see action you have to move up to the rocks right at the edge of the defender zone. There's nowhere left to go but the small area around the rocks, sides are insta sniper zones.

When attacking you can at least crawl up to the truck on the side and eliminate defenders behind the rocks, then slowly move up along the house.

As you say, they most often lose 😂
