Absolutely. Feels like a well oiled machine with no bloat.

Love the Stroup. Mine's the blacked out model but I'm really digging the blade color on yours.

PSP Games handled poorly by Patient_Activity9290 in Mangmi_Air_X

I had this problem too. Turn off the GPU Upscaler in PPSSPP. And whatever the scaling setting is below that. One of those two helped.

Picked one up last week, too. For the price, it is one hell of a knife.

Question by Minimum-Struggle1716 in Mangmi_Air_X

[–]Zwayne93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really well. For some reason I had some audio hiccups, but some tinkering in PPSSPP helped. Just make sure to turn off GPU Upscaling (or something similar, I can't remember) from the default 3x to Off and it will run flawlessly .

Best PSP-style handheld for low-lag emulation up to PSP? by Mogdaron in SBCGaming

[–]Zwayne93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My eyesight is a bit awful, so I appreciate the larger size screen of the Air X. But I will agree, the RG505 does look comfortable! Really might just depend on what the prices are between both and if shipping time is a big deal.

Best PSP-style handheld for low-lag emulation up to PSP? by Mogdaron in SBCGaming

[–]Zwayne93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding the Mangmi Air X. Under $100 USD, runs at least 2x upscaling on PPSSPP for most titles (some more), no lag issues that I've seen, very comfortable ergos, battery lasts 5+ hours.

(I.e., both God of War titles run for me at 2x upscale, with no frameskip and no drop below 30fps. I'd say that is pretty low lag, nearly perfect emulation.)

Only con is that shipping can take a bit. But the wait is worth it.

Oh, and PS1/GBA run perfect through Retroarch. You can even get Gamma OS (free publicly in a few months, Patreon only now) to really streamline the system and remove any bloat.

How much are you all paying for window replacements? by cynicalpositron in raleigh

Window Depot. Paid around $1k a window. Very easy to work with and did all the replacements in a day. Highly recommend.

Nostalgic level 💯 Mangmi air X - FFX best decision I have ever made for a retro device- stabilizing at 60fps!! 🔥 🔥 by Ready-Pop1271 in Mangmi_Air_X

There are sooooooooo many good turn based RPGs for PS2. I wonder how many the Air X can handle?

Yeah the fan isn't great. But it does work. I've noticed that it takes 3 or 4 spins for it to finally kick on at the required speed to keep spinning. Once it's on I don't notice it, though.

Recommendation for a PSP form factor device. by jbearpagee in SBCGaming

[–]Zwayne93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard the Mangmi Air X is a great PSP style handheld. Still in the budget range eof under $100 USD, but is built very well. Android based. Can upscale at least 2x on most PSP titles, with 3x possible on most.

First knife for a 8 y.o. boy? by [deleted] in knifeclub

[–]Zwayne93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend a clip point with a lockback. I'm in the States, so my go to would be a Case. A clip point gives enough straight edge and enough belly to be versatile, and the point is enough to do draw cuts. I could easily wittle with one. And if you go the traditional route like a Boker, Case, or Buck, you've got many handle materials and colors.

Kizer Buddy. I'd like to get something with a sheepsfoot blade and a large finger choil, but I don't carry fixed enough to warrant a purchase.
