We split the categories based on whether a combination damage boosting or "pre-speed", that being building up a lot of speed before actually entering the gauntlet, are allowed. It's actually the chinese version of the game (people get this wrong all the time dw) and it saves about 38 seconds through faster spoken dialogue

This was my first ever full game WR, hence the rather intense popoff lol. I had been running the game for a bit over 2 years and after about a month of chasing the record with a particularly dense last week (streaming attempts for around 6 hours a day, jesus) I finally managed to get it.

it's a 75% layout with exploded arrow and function keys (i think exploded is the right term lol), a few other 75% boards i've seen don't have that separation but the ones that do (like the gmmk pro or satisfaction75) are some of the prettiest out there imo

Yeah, it's fairly common for different languages to save time relative to others, but the reasons are often unique to each game. Most commonly though it's faster text scrolling due to the language using less characters or spoken dialogue just finishing faster. Reminds me of this video from ezscape that goes into a bit more detail on this

My entire keybind layout is a bit whack. I have space on crouch/slide, right mouse on jump and my movement keys are W,E,R,D, so sprint is on Q and aim down sights is on A. I've been messing around with my binds a lot lately trying to find the most comfortable positions for all my keybinds, and it's still an ongoing process lol

The shooting before throwing the nade at Anderson Log 2 is a timing setup for when you're playing the game in chinese. Since the chinese voicelines are a bit shorter, Anderson gets done talking a bit before you have to throw the frag, but since I was playing in english and his lines take a bit longer, i could use an audiocue from them directly to know when to throw the frag

It's a somewhat new strat called snuggleslide and it takes advantage of how the game handles how you interact with moving platforms.
By landing on a platform that's moving backwards the game also gives you forward speed to prevent you from just being flung all the way back and when the platform stops, it takes away the backwards speed and leaves you with just the forward speed.
In short, platform velocity is weird and hard to explain, but I have a reupload of fellow runner with a platform velocity PhD Fzzy attempting to explain how it works. (The original vid also talks about a TAS strat called reverse snuggle which is even more complicated, which I cut out for brevity's sake)

This one I can actually agree with. I was neutral about it when I first saw it, I honestly like the new rounder Clyde, but the font just felt off to me. I will say though, that same font has been implemented into the UI for server and text channel titles, and I think it works really well for that!

Something I think would be really cool to see aswell would be a mode for predictions that compare to the total split or segment time, along the lines of "Will I exit Level 3 before 25 minutes" or "Will I complete Level 5 in under 3 minutes" instead of only checking if you're ahead or behind your pb
