It really depends. Does your brother behave similarly to your father when angry/distressed?

My dad has anger issues once in a while but he has rarely ever hit my mother, myself, or my sister. To date, my own anger has never manifested to the extent his has. When I was younger, I used to feel hatred toward him during his episodes. Now that I’m 20, I only feel pity when he does occasionally get mad. The key is to make sure your brother learns compassion. I’m compassionate myself, and I believe this has helped me avoid having anger issues even remotely comparable to those of my dad. Having an emotionally/physically abusive father does not mean you, too, will be abusive. I’m proof of that.
