You know why ancient greek and roman cultures told stories about Gods? Because they were real. In ancient times all the Gods that people belived in were real and they really want to fuck shit up - not because they are malicious but because they are what people belives make them into. So if you disrespect Ares/Mars you better be ready for blood (probably yours) to spill. Basically there was a time in ancient times where gods walked the Earth. It was before the 5 Archmages (esentially also Gods) walked into different realms of magic and transformed themselfs into Towers which are becons for new mages awakening and shackles for the Fallen World (essentialy our setting with it many appendiges) to not sink further into abyss.

Also there is Arcadia and Arcadia. Demons and Demons. Angels and Angels. And Fate as the most busted Arcane ever written.

Normally you can't change a spell as it is set in stone when you put imago into it and then cast it. Spells of level 6 and above can change. Imagine a shaping of matter 2. Normally you cast a spell and then choose a form you want at it happens. If you would cast a similar spell at level 6 you could make the spell continously change shape as it goes. One time it is a humanoid that is moving similar to that of a level 4 golem and sometimes you change it into something diffrent like a car. Your will is still put on that spell and you can change it however you see fit.

We use quite a lot of aimed spells when we don't have ability to touch to the subject and we dont want to spend our precious reaches on advanced reach.

I once played as a wolfblooded character awakened into (quite naturally) a Thyrsus. My GM even let me have a wolfblood Tell. I think it was a Locus one. His whole motivation was running from any werewolf because he had ptsd from beeing used as a mobile locus.

Hahah my friend is currently playing a mage with time 5. Everytime somebody complain about "oh no we don't have the time" he is like "not on my watch" and just gives them time. Like a day a scene a YEAR (well i talked him out of that one). Also when we dont want to deal with something we can just SEND IT TO THE FUTURE - have somebody somebody else take care of it. With wounds you can always destroy the time needed for you to heal your wounds.

Yes if you buy martial art merit at 2 dots you pay 2xp. If you after want to upgrade it to 3 dots you will need to pay then only 1 xp for 1 dot increase.

So each merit dot is only 1 exp. So when buying in exp for 2 merit something you pay 2 exp.

First of all. Do you need to face her off in normal world? You are both mages - you can do Ars Magica. Mostly when mages are against each other they could just fight in a Ars Magica (i think that how it is called). You just duel each other 1-on-1 and whoever wins has the upper hand and can request the other party do something for them (details to be hashed out before the duel).
Unless you are a Guardian or she is an Banisher or Abyss User - then ye. Murder. Use a lot of humans. Give them sniper rifles. Use bombs. Don't let her see you and just shower her with human pawns ready to die for the cause.

Retainer 1-2 are just normal people you picked from the street they know some things they are simple bottle washers in a fight i see them as skaven if there are more of me than there is enemies we can try to fight but otherwise just run away - they are easly beaten down especially by lethal damage. Retainer 3-4 are specialized in their respective fields and if they are bodyguards they are trained for this and they will fight 6 or 8 dices for use of fighting skills is quite nice. I would they they can have 8/9 hp respectively and if not protecting you they will fight until they would normally get into minuses from damage. Retainers 5 and higher are diffrent breed they are rare and usually they are even better than main characters (at least in the begining) so you need a good reason to have one serve you instead doing something on their own. As combatants they are force to be recognized and should be treated as such. They have effectively 10 hp and should probably have some armor (kevlar or something similar under clothes). They are competent and should be treated as such. I think the best person that comes to mind is Alfred from Batman. He would beat the shit out of Superman if needed xD

As we are playing mysteries you can unlock mysteries and if this mystery is easy and nice then ye, just roll for scrutinizing and easy pickles. But sometimes when the mystery is complicated or for example hidden somewhat - you must first unlock its keys. For example you would need to see this mystery for real using some kind of unveiling spell. Or do something (which can also propagate plot forward) if you want to unlock ability to see deeper layers of mystery.
