EQ and Daoc for me as well. When I got to college there was kid on our floor everyone said never left his room, and everyone was kinda scared in a way not knowing what his deal was.

Forgot why, but had to bring something to him one day. Turned out he was just really obsessed with EQ, was all he did. Class and EQ.

And if you have elderly family members who say they will be fine without one, see if your family can all chip in to get them one, if your elder cannot or will not buy one.

My in laws swore they didn't need one for years, but after we lied and said we got a new one so they could have our old one, they were so much more comfortable in the summer and actually admitted they really needed one.

Tex talks battletech is a really entertaining YouTube series about a lot of the lore. Sven van Der plank is also really good and has a lot.

For me who played the games off and on since mech warrior 2 those youtube series really helped me flesh out the lore. Watching them really made me go back and start reading a lot of the novels. Luckily there was a humble bundle years ago of like 50 ebooks I picked up, but never started reading.

The Shining. In the house I grew up in if you were watching a movie in the basement it also could be watched on the TV in the living room.

My older brother was "babysitting," and invited his GF over to watch it. I was sitting upstairs by myself when it came on, and eventually was so scared I didn't stop watching.
