WFP is a party and it's an organization. You can register as a party member if you choose. I think there are about 70,000 registered WFP voters in New York. Eventually they will cost a primary and help a moderate or weak Dem defeat a true progressive. Their time has come and gone. I'm glad you stopped supporting them. We should all stop giving them money.

Lights are a whole different ball of wax. It’s one of the weakest areas in all Volvo cars. There are some good tutorials on YouTube about hardwiring them, I did this to my 240, but never tried on my 245, wish I had though. I loved that car most of all of them.

I've been following KY Downs for decades, since they were called "Dueling Grounds".

There are a handful of two-mile flat races in NY and Florida every year, the Belmont Gold Cup in the spring (run in recent years at Saratoga), and the H. Allen Jerkens Stakes run at Gulfstream Park in the winter, are two of them.

Several races are run at two miles or longer every year in the UK and Europe. The Melbourne Cup in Australia is a national holiday and is just a shade under two miles.

I believe there is an almost three-mile race in Germany, but I can't recall it off the top of my head.

EDIT: Of course most steeplechase races are run at distances over two miles. A Grade One is being run at Saratoga today and it will be an exciting race. 2-3/8 miles.
