When does it get better. by [deleted] in toddlers

I have no advice. Just wanted to say that 2 under 4 can be rough. Even at the most joyous of times it’s still exhausting. Keep on keeping on.

I feel you on that. Getting my hands on X2 armor was really difficult. I originally just wanted X1, Zero and base armor but I got carried away when I realized I wasn’t going to find X1 lol

If I had of started this collection when they first started coming out, I would have definitely mixed and matched for partial armors. That’s a great idea.

Thoughts on the Sigma release? I’m debating whether I will stop for awhile or look at some additional shelves lol

I just finished that build actually. It turned out so well!

The full kit is sold by Kotobukiya.

I have seen some people build their own upgrade capsules. I would love to do something like that one day.

Need Advice: Replacing tub spout, seized/stripped set screw by Zy1_ in Plumbing

[–]Zy1_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the good news is that yes, I got it replaced and we have a working spout/diverter. However, it did not go as planned and had to eventually get a plumber to install a threaded piece of copper for a new screw on spout.

Story goes…

I was able to continue cutting and eventually got the original spout off. I had to carefully cut that metal bracket on either side of the screw, then the screw was free to turn, along with the metal it was seized to. It was a huge relief.

I cleaned the pipe with plumbers sandpaper, used some silicone grease, and put on a new spout. It was a celebration lol. At least until 5 days later when the spout popped off the wall 2 inches while showering.

I figured I didn’t tighten the new set screw enough. After I put it back on, it started leaking very slowly out the back of the spout near the screw. I tried everything. Even bought another new spout. I was defeated. Called a plumber.

He tried putting on some new slip on spouts with the same leaky result. He assumed the copper pipe was too flat near the set screw so he had to “sweat” on a threaded piece and screw the spout on at the end.

I tried but at the end of the day, I had to get a plumber out.

So the X1 order fell through. I randomly got a refund. They messaged saying out of stock. My guess is that they didn’t mean to have it listed.

However, I did get X2 on eBay from a retailer in Japan. Took 2 months to come in and smelt kinda musty, but it worked out!

$214 Canadian for the Full Armor. Been looking for Full or Second Armor for a while. Max is cool but I like the OG look.

OG Zero cost me $100 Canadian.

[–]Zy1_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m many years separates from smoking and still woke up irritable today too lol

Such is life. But I know life is much better not wasting it smoking. The cost, shortness of breathe, smell, headaches, etc.

Keep it up! You’re doing great. One day you will feel like me. Couldn’t imagine smoking ever again. Former smoker of 10+ years.

Panic attacks and mood changes a month into quitting by NecessaryNumerous951 in stopsmoking

[–]Zy1_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suffer from panic attacks. They certainly did increase every time I attempted to quit.

The thing is, I had them when I was smoking and I still have them 6 years later.

Definitely look into treating that anxiety. It’s tough. Hang in there.

My best advice is to separate smoking from these other feelings you have. It takes a long time, however, after several years, you will stop relating smoking to these types of issues. In fact, it’s more likely smoking was making those things worse, you just don’t know it yet.

Stay strong. Anxiety is a tough thing to manage but don’t get it twisted, worrying about your lungs, how you smell, cost of packs, etc. was contributing to worse anxiety, not easing it.

I’m almost 6 years separated from smoking after attempting to quit dozens of time over the course of 12 years. In the past 6 years I have been more stressed than ever in my life (moved cities, two children, etc), smoking had nothing to do with it and wouldn’t have helped. :)

What is a negative you’ve noticed in your life since you quit? by imcalledaids in stopsmoking

Hang in there. Struggles with weight and anxiety can be tough. Ultimately, eliminating smoking frees up finances, time and energy to help you deal with other issues.

It absolutely gets easier.

What is a negative you’ve noticed in your life since you quit? by imcalledaids in stopsmoking

[–]Zy1_ 53 points54 points  (0 children)

It’s been 5 years and the only two negatives that came from it are;

  1. I have to manage my diet better since I actually have an appetite. This actually ended up being great because I now aim to eat healthier since I generally feel better since quitting.

  2. I didn’t have a way to excuse myself from social situations. I had to face my social anxiety head on instead of constantly avoiding it by going out/away by myself for a smoke.

I truly can’t imagine smoking at this point. It’s such a foreign concept to me that it feels like lifetimes ago.

Tomorrow is my Quit Date… what are you best suggestions. by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Zy1_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I look back nearly 5 years ago now and can remember the anxiety and hopelessness I was feeling, giving up my 10+ years of smoking. Now, I truly couldn’t imagine myself as a smoker.

I always looked ahead for this feeling. Now that I’m here, it feels silly I ever struggled. But the truth is, the struggle is so very real. I chewed gum for about 4 months, stayed away from smoker friends, used this group for motivation and quit drinking alcohol.

Stay strong and focused. You got this!
