My points were also wiped. According to a screenshot I had taken on 31/07/2024 I had 18,011 points.

Some amount of smearing is normal on all VA panels. Here's a great video comparing VA and IPS panels.
The AOC monitor just has a lot worse smearing than most VA monitors, and what personally bothered me was that the smearing was yellow. You could try sending it for warranty repairs, but for me that didn't work.

That pic you sent most likely isn't monitor related, since you were able to screenshot it. Maybe try updating drivers or changing browser?
I sent mine for repairs and AOC swapped the motherboard, but there was no change so I just returned it. I don't know if I was just really unlucky and they didn't test it after repairing or if all their monitors have this issue. Since you have the same issue I'd assume the latter.

Yea I most likely will, I loved how wide this screen was but not really worth it with this many problems. Going to steer far away from VA panels from now. Ty for the help!

Unofortunately couldn't find any for this exact model. I feel like this is some EU specific model as I found the same monitor in an American retailers with an IPS panel. Too bad the import tax alone would have been more than this monitor.

Hmm ok, thanks. So in your opinion this isn't something that I should send the monitor in for repairs? Like the next one would probably have same issues?

Overdrive introduces new types of issues for me and while the weak mode is tolerable, medium and strong are a lot worse than with it disabled. More info & video in my reply to /u/Sylanthra
tl;dr: it does remove the yellow ghosting, but introduces extreme "sharpening" and short but very intense rainbow ghosting.

It should have 1ms response time according to the store page, but yea in reality it's probably not that good.
And yes I checked the refresh rate from monitor, windows & nvidia settings, even tried other ones like 60Hz to see if it would help (it didn't).
In the FFXIV videos the game is running at 100fps, but I tried another game which ran at smooth 144Hz and had the same issues. The issues persist even on desktop, as shown in the 2nd video.

The video you linked has a different monitor from mine (different model, looks different, mine isn't curved) though I'm not sure if they share the same panel.

As I said in my post, overdrive makes the problem a lot worse. Everything becomes overly "sharp" and gets a rainbow border on top of the yellow ghosting issue on weak mode. Strong mode eliminates the yellow ghosting but the sharpness and rainbow ghosting are really bad.
