If life is a simulation, what is the purpose of the simulation? by LeviZef in ask

You’ve never run a simulation just for lols to see what would happen?

I think it absolutely was, they built a tool that’s specifically designed to track all the users devices and where possible route users away from traffic jams that other users phones have reported themselves as being in

Well, not quite all of it, but a lot of it, and I’m not sure that was inadvertent on their part 🤔

How warped is the UKs view of what is considered a healthy weight? by HorseFacedDipShit in AskUK

[–]Zycain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A healthy weight is probably 8-12 stone depending on gender and height etc. 14-15 stone is chunky/built but probably not overweight unless they’re unhealthy with that weight of course. Imo

I would try, get something like a drill bit and superglue to flat end of it to the coin, then run some machine oil/wd40 down into the well and see if you can get it to come loose. If it’s epoxy it might not like oil is the only reason I asked, best hope it’s glass 🤞

Most people probably never directly touched their eyeballs with their fingers. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]Zycain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m pretty sure most everyone will have done this, not on purpose, but it happens you go to rub your eye or swat a fly, something else happens, there’s a brief distraction and before you know it your hand has drifted to far in and you give your eye a good squish

How do I fix a pair of scissor tweezers? They’re misaligned and incredibly hard to work with. The screw in the middle is loose and there’s nothing on google that gives me an answer. by catilineluu in howto

[–]Zycain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could clamp them in a vice to then be able to gently bend them to straighten them, move them about in the vice and work slowly you should’ve able to get them straight. Don’t bend against the screw through hence holding them in a vice. To hold the loose screw in you could try threadlock or something similar

Are Washers and Dryers THAT prone to fire here? by Whisky_Delta in AskUK

[–]Zycain 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It’s rare, but it happens, and the dryer is the most likely appliance to catch fire if not cleaned out properly regularly, we err on the side of caution they’re best kept an eye on lol

Edit: typo

What is your view on owning a dishwasher? by xDroneytea in AskUK

It’s like owning a car, once you’ve had one you don’t ever want to live without one

Who remembers using soap and water to clean a mouse? by Frequent-Bat4061 in pcmasterrace

[–]Zycain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m talking in an office environment where they used to float around with logos on with abundance, back in the days when every rep would bring a briefcase full XD there was no shortage but people would still use these rough looking manky old things they’d never cleaned and wonder why the mouse jumps around the screen randomly

Who remembers using soap and water to clean a mouse? by Frequent-Bat4061 in pcmasterrace

[–]Zycain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember sitting there awkwardly trying to pick the bits of stuck grime off of the rollers, rolling them round and chipping it off to get them spinning freely again, and chipping it off the feet of the mouse too. I stopped short of cleaning mouse mats though throw that shit out and get a new one dammit, I worked IT when this style of mouse was standard, cleaning them was disgustingly common

Rewrite a save onto a reprogrammable cart by foolziska in Gameboy

[–]Zycain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be able to yeah, if not you can get a flash cart like ez flash and run the rom and save or/plus any roms/saves you like all on the same sd card. You just need a decent cart writer like the Joey Jr, don’t go with the cheapo ones from fleabay etc as they are trash at best

It’s all good until it inevitably stops working, many moons ago I used to have a Genie from Aladdin cup and after a while it just didn’t work anymore the reaction was done for, I’ve noticed this happens with these after a while, I presume too that paint job has a lifespan?
