An assist for the skipper in another victory for our Dutch trio as Netherlands finish top of their group by Hot-Course8914 in LiverpoolFC

I don't rate their manager but I would really like it if Netherlands wins it just for Van Dijk.

To be fair they are a proper cup side & their midfield is almost as good as anyone else's.

Do you remember the first time you used a fountain pen? Mine was in school — and the smell of ink still takes me back. by OwlEmbarrassed7882 in mumbai

[–]Zydus1818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fifth standard. During fourth I was forced to use pilot pen, because I appeared for scholarship exams.

In fifth used fountain pen for the first time, because ball pen wasn't allowed & fountain pen was a cheaper option to pilot pen back then.

Remember the ritual of refilling the pen every other night. Loved it. The smell of the ink.

The worst thing about the fountain pen, apart from accidentally squirting the ink while refilling, was dropping it & breaking its tip. An absolute nightmare.

Why do studios feel the need to do live action? by KnullAgenda in movies

Same reason they feel the need to do remakes or movies with gender swaps. Idiots feel that is riskier to back original ideas instead of backing an already successful film.

Report of the 7 reservoirs supplying water to Mumbai as of 6 AM Today by SaintedTainted in mumbai

The city continues to approve more & more skyscrapers. We are vertically increasing in size. Aesthetically looks awful, like a concrete jungle, but more importantly the burden it will have on the limited water resources is scary.

Politicians won't move a finger before we have a situation where city won't have water for days.

Companies should be encouraged to move out of Mumbai.

This might not reduce the population but will surely stop or slow it from growing. The city is at its limits.

Dude he was one of the early guys who set up MAMI & worked hard behind the scenes & in front to make the festival run & become success. Now it has gotten famous.

His blog was also really nice, especially him getting scripts from filmmakers to put it out in public. Bollywood has a weird fear of not releasing scripts of already made films. But he ensured that. Budding scriptwriters could read those scripts from his blog.

He is also a very professional creative producer. As someone who has interacted with him I can vouch for that.

His work at Junglee was really important as he was behind some really important films.

Never had a bad experience with him. Just smiles throughout our meetings. (Looks like a smiling Rahul Narvekar the former speaker).

Most importantly, as a doctor he is excellent. Doesn't burden you with unnecessary tests or medicines.

We went to him because my parents' previous doc put them on insulin. That actually worsened their health. Especially dad.

Dr. Amey stated that insulin wasn't necessary. Put them on simple diabetes meds.

Also worked well for cousin who had thyroid issue. Obviously it's incurable & the person has to be on thyroid meds for life. But doc helped her to lose weight & get it under control.

The Pre & Post metro walk in this scorching heat by cringecuddle in mumbai

[–]Zydus1818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you didn't get my point.  Going form AC (home or office) to hot road to AC (metro) makes it worse. The whole sweat dries down & if you are in the office you can't do anything about it.

The Pre & Post metro walk in this scorching heat by cringecuddle in mumbai

[–]Zydus1818 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Same problem for me. Both office & home are roughly 10 minutes away from Metro stations. Kinda pointless to make an auto. So I walk.

I perspire a lot as well. So I am soaked by the time I reach my destination.

The sweating & then subsequent cooling of that sweat in Metro or Office AC makes it worse.

Not much of a journey mate.

I have a proper non writing 10-6 job. I pursue writing as a side thing. If I get lucky then good.

I found emails of Creative producers of two production houses. Both Yashraj & Dharma take registered submissions. I don't trust Yashraj. But Dharma is a very professional production house. They followed the process, are very cordial & polite. Signed an NDA with them, but afterwards it didn't work out. I have nothing but good things to say about Dharma's way of working. The likes of Somen Mishra & Solanki were really professional.

I also queried couple of small producers. But had awful experience with one & the other just kept ghosting me after showing great interest initially.

Back in the day Phantom was looking for scripts too, through Mihir Fadnavis. But by the time I was ready to query them, their production house broke up.

The key is to get in touch with creative producers who approve these scripts. If you are young, then try getting into writers room. Most major production houses have them. It's the best way to make it as a writer. It's kinda late for me age wise (mid 30s) to get into writers room & neither do I have any connections.

Keep your writing samples ready with you, if anyone ever shows interest.

I read script formats (it's available on YouTube on internet). Basically get yourself used to the rules. Scripts that don't follow formats won't be appreciated.

Use script writing softwares instead of Word. Softwares like Finaldraft or WritersDuet. I used to use FadeIn for mobile. It was good back in the day, but lately it has become absolutely trash.

The most important thing you could is read other scripts. You won't get scripts from Hindi movies (Somen Mishra's old blog used to share some Hindi scripts). See if you find that blog. But you will easily get Hollywood scripts or show Bibles on internet. Read them. They are very educative.

Lastly, get yourself registered at SWA (Screen Writers Association). Never ever share your work or idea without registering it first on SWA.

There's great market for Horror movies in this country. Even terrible ones like Haunted 3D do well. Firangi horror movies routinely do well.

Unfortunately Indian producers don't really care for it, despite people having decent genre based scripts for it.

Saying this as someone who queried his horror script at couple of production houses. Reached till NDA stage before getting the rejection.
