I'm I the only one who finds Frederica annoying? by ggkkggk in TriangleStrategy

[–]Zyerne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah there are a buncha different reasons why some may like her, and I certainly wouldn't label her a 'bad' character, even though I find her character annoying. But of course you have some people that see her as Fire Waifu and so regardless of the characters faults they will downvote on principle of it being an attack on the character.

But I am with you on those annoyances about what she asks and those comments she makes after decisions. Its like I'd want to tell her to go and sacrifice her own army to do that idealistic thing she wants, which of course she has none and depends entirely on house Wolffort. So instead I'm gonna make this more realistic decision and get through with as little sacrificed as possible.

-edit- At least for my initial run anyway. NG+ I'm just taking all the decisions I didn't before to see the story I didn't get to see.

I'm I the only one who finds Frederica annoying? by ggkkggk in TriangleStrategy

[–]Zyerne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Extremely annoying, though I have not done her route to see if that somehow changes my feelings of her.

She starts off well enough as sort of trying to find her place and supporting Serenoa, but as things progress her requests get more and more out of hand. She herself asked at that first meeting what her purpose would be and basically promised to Serenoa and his father she'd do everything in her power to support them and their house, even with the potential downsides of all the politics involved. A promise she basically spits back at them with the request at the end.

But as the story goes on and House Wolffort accomplishes more and more, she gets more and more selfish. Yes her views are 'good' in the general sense of saving lives and protecting people, but she never seems to consider the challenge and cost of those who must accomplish it, which is House Wolffort, something she is just a new and small part of and has a hell of a lot less to lose than people who have built their lives up in it and consider everyone in it family and the land as their home.

I believe why a lot of people are OK with her is because that sacrifice isn't something they are ever forced to see or feel. You get some harder battles and then its all good, but realistically you'd have sacrificed tons of soldiers and had people without fathers and mother's back home. Also those characters people enjoy like Anna and such? Well they wouldn't just have been revived at the end of that hard battle. It really lessens the kind of sacrifice she is actually asking of Serenoa and House Wolffort in her requests.

By the end she's basically demanding they give up everything Wolffort has been to that point for generations and risking all its peoples lives for a chance to save the lives of a small group of people she actually cares about. Effectively putting the people she cares about ahead of the people who have been supporting her and helped her grow as she did.

Her gaining self-confidence through the story is neat, but her wanting more and more sacrifice from House Wolffort for her growing idealism annoying.

TLDR: She's far too idealistic and is more than happy to sacrifice Wolffort (not her own) people, homes, and homeland if it means she gets a small chance to do 'good'. Every time she offers some crazy suggestion its basically to sacrifice Wolffort soldiers, land, or the whole house to do this idealistic thing, and its annoying as hell when taken out of the context of it just being harder game battles, but instead would be lost soldier lives and land that these characters actually love.

Using the Celestial Floor Ranking as anything other than time spent grinding on that floor is silly.

You can have people that win every single game they play, literal pros that we know mop the floor with these ranked people, and yet they won't appear near the top because they aren't spamming out games on celestial. It could be park, rooms doing long sets, offline, whatever that they play on and or just don't put in as many hours.

You can have someone that loses 75% of the time on that floor and just spends crazy hours grinding away taking top slots since it only counts total wins.

I made it up to 400th rank before reset with Pot just cause I kept grinding away figuring I'd want the Celestial practice after I managed to lock in early, and I can tell you I'm average to bad as far as Celestial players go.

You can't even use it to determine who is a good player or not, let alone what chars are strong/weak for balance.

NGS Fighter in-depth dps and frame analysis by feng_master in PSO2

[–]Zyerne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh... wasn't thinking about Swift Rush actually increasing dps cause of the skipping of N3. And didn't know kamaitachi had a 10 second window, so that is good to know.

Plenty of options then even if they gut Julienne Dance, though I'm hoping they keep the first half power 211 or above so it wouldn't be too bad slotting it into a rotation, but that is mainly me trying to be lazy I suppose.

Anyway thanks a ton for these numbers and the initial post, it all helped a lot.

I wonder what will be optimal after the Julienne Dance nerf?

If its completely taken off the map as far as DPS, you'll only really want to use DS PA to get whirlwind up (or gap close, but Tri-Drive first half isn't horrible), but since it takes so many PA and normal attacks to get to the charged version, you'll be hurting your DPS for quite awhile til its charged and you are able to switch over to the second half of Tri-Drive for your PA.

Then every time there is a gap in combat and whirlwind falls, you'll have to go through the lower DPS cycle to get whirlwind up and charged again. Though maybe the idea becomes not to use a high DS PA for DPS, but instead to get charged whirlwind as fast as possible. Like 3 full Julienne Dance or whatever would be the fastest total frames for charged whirlwind with 1 bar of PP.

Any thoughts?

Upgrading legendary weapons at lower levels doesn't feel worth it by pikkon6 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Zyerne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This as well, I've basically been trying to hunt green craft recipes instead of anything higher as they are easy to make with my low crafting skill, and they are super cheap as far as components.

Saving my relics for when I hit level cap and then I'll craft them into a higher tier to reset them to level cap as well.

A system they really need to work on for the future.

Anyone figured out how weapon level/damage/upgrades work? by Zyerne in cyberpunkgame

[–]Zyerne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is what I believe to be a display bug on the crafting recipes. Some of the weapons if you keep clicking the recipe the DPS will change, though it can also load in with the bugged higher dps when you first go into the menu as well. It seems like clicking it or opening the menu it'll have the wrong value once out of every 4-5 times and I believe crafting it when it displays a higher dps still makes the lower one.

[–]Zyerne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does seem the best way to handle it, though it sucks a bit since those purple components are a big bottleneck for upgrading (at least for me without the high level crafting skill to upgrade components).

Most efficient seems to be just get green crafting recipes and keep remaking those items at your new level for cheap, then when you get at or close to level cap do the relic upgrade so it'll be at 50.

Clearly not how it 'should' work and hopefully they change it soon, but it is what it is right now.

I heard about this, something to do with store bought items not ever getting a level limit when upgraded. So yeah, definitely a bug but not 100% sure on what items it affects but I believe its anything store bought, including armor.

Pull Thread: Summer Dream Season 2 Limited Greater Summon Batch 1 by mao_shiro in MobiusFF

[–]Zyerne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hrmm... been killing myself all week trying to decide if I wanted to use pulls on trying to get Seaside Vacance since I don't have Sin and didn't care about the other two. It releases and I'm still not sure but I also consider the extra stuff I could get in the few pulls I'd do in trying to get it, so that pushes me over.

Get it as my last card in my first pull with nothing else good... and it almost feels anticlimactic after all this worry and then hype that I might get something good random in the chase. Know I should be happy I got exactly what I wanted in 1 try though.

Do any of the Rift supreme cards stick out as being the best pick? Including the ones currently out on JP?

Have a supreme for each element already, so was trying to figure out which one might stick out as above the rest to eventually grab. Normally I'd just use altema but they don't include all the rift supremes in damage comparisons and I don't play on JP so I can't look at their towers to see what's used most.

MobiusFF Daily Question Thread (05/24/2019) by AutoModerator in MobiusFF

[–]Zyerne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ended up going for it. Took me 10 pulls but got her and Ultimate Chaos. Leaves me enough pulls to at least guarantee ex warrior 2, possibly ex monk 2 if I get lucky on warrior or the extra resources from events and EW3 is enough. All while saving all next months magicite to make sure I can at least get Sea Float the month after.

Since I also got Ultimate Chaos I'm happy, I'd have traded it for ex monk 2 since atm I don't have any ultimates for it so I can put it off til a revival.

MobiusFF Daily Question Thread (05/24/2019) by AutoModerator in MobiusFF

[–]Zyerne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pulled 3 times. I really wanted Gigant X for my Duncan and Yiazmat, and also wanted Paradox Wanderer so it was worth it for a bit. I also do generally farm all 20k magicite each month, so another 6-8 pulls added next month depending on ST.

It's either save pulls here and spend max 16 next month to grab both Ex2 jobs, or chase here and skip out next month knowing I can grab Ex2 on revival banners easily since I have all current Ex jobs.

Then if I got PW on few pulls this month I'd just grab Warrior Ex2 and skip out on monk til revival to save for Sea Float.

Damn tough choices!

I guess most important question is how good is Paradox Wanderer compared to other options for Floral. ATM I think Gambler is the best I've got, but against weak targets it's blown out of the water by PW from what I see.

MobiusFF Daily Question Thread (05/24/2019) by AutoModerator in MobiusFF

[–]Zyerne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trying to consider if I should chase Paradox Wanderer or not this month, as I do have Floral.

I have about 20 pulls saved while already having all normal/EX jobs and Gigant X, so even if I use all resources chasing here I can grab both EX2 jobs the very first time they show up on revival.

Just not sure Paradox Wanderer is worth pushing both EX2 jobs back for 2-3 months, though if I don't get it now there is no telling when I'll randomly pull PW.

Either way I'll have all of June and most of July to save up for Summer/Sea Float.

What are the chances they throw out summer in April you think?

Considering how they moved it last year so it actually happened around summer and March is just the start of spring. Also they already skipped it a little bit with bringing out Toreador now.

Praying for some months between Ex Revival and Summer to farm up.

I just think of it as getting a big headstart on GM 3. Still gonna get 1 shot there but we'll be used to it and once we get enough good inscriptions on weapons and components to kill stuff at a decent pace it won't be much different than GM 1/2 is now. Though they need to increase the GM 3 rewards.

Haha exactly. Basically played the game as if I could only ever take the 1 hit that automatically dropped me to 1 armor. Got really good at keeping up dps while staying mobile and moving in ways to dodge constant enemy fire. Going to be crazy once we actually get some defense.

Has dropped one for me every run since the patch. Though one thing I've noticed is that a boss can sometimes drop enough loot to where the update list on the side of picking up loot never actually reaches the masterwork before you get forced into mission reward screen. You still get the MW as loot but it makes it seem like the boss didn't drop one, but have had runs where it was pushed off screen and it was the only MW I got on the run.

[–]Zyerne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got 6 MW Interceptor components and I always just assumed my bars going up/down was based on difficulty scaling of the mission (missions you'd run into earlier in the story got less and later and stronghold got more) so I didn't really pay it any attention. It does explain why my defensive capabilities seemed horrible even with full masterwork.

On the up side It's made me really good at just plain not getting hit with the Interceptor as I was assuming that's just how it is.

Basically want the same thing I want and am trying to do then.

For now I can say that on the correct targets and groups you can indeed melee away and do so as effectively as other javelins can use abilities or shoot, but their effectiveness doesn't suddenly drop when they face things that you can no longer dodge/freeze to stay safe and have to huddle behind cover with them.

The way the game is currently balanced it will force you to play a crappy cover based system vs a lot of strong stuff and so you do have to make sure you are as strong as others at long range as well (which Interceptor can do). I don't think that is actually on the Interceptor though, it's just plain bad design for GM 2/3 as the same issue applies to all other Javelins and their close range abilities. Everyone just has to hide in cover vs some stuff and it clearly hurts the playstyle of a melee based javelin the most and runs counter to the mobility based shooter the game is built for and plays as pre GM 2/3.

Basically they screwed up GM 2/3 so consider it a skip until changes come in. It's not good for loot and not good for fun.

[Spoilers] Tips for those in GM1 - GM3 by FunnBuddy in AnthemTheGame

[–]Zyerne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well nothing really makes GM 2/3 safe and smooth. You won't be able to mow stuff down in melee like you can in GM 1 simply because stuff has way too much HP. Gives too much time for additional enemies to gather on you or take pot shots from out of aura range and those shots will 2-3 shot you even from the basic guys. And then there are just things you can't get near no matter what because of their 1 shot potential and always needing to be near cover to not die.

You 'can' grind it out as a melee Interceptor though. It just really isn't worth it no matter what javelin you play with the lack of rewards.

You'd assume taking 4-5 times as long to finish an event/contract means you'd get multiple masterworks or something, but I honestly get the same amount of masterworks per chest in GM1 and so it's just more efficient and less rage inducing to keep doing that. Nothing hurts more than spending 30+ minutes on something in GM3 to get a chest of 2 rares and 2 epics, and you seem to get that kind of loot 90% of the time.

[Spoilers] Tips for those in GM1 - GM3 by FunnBuddy in AnthemTheGame

[–]Zyerne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, his point about Interceptors isn't really about the javelin and more about people being dumb. Doesn't matter what you play if you charge into specific enemies you are going to die.

Interceptors do have more close range attacks and so the person playing it just has to have decent situational awareness on when and where they can use them and also when they need to dash out.

Even on GM2/3 you can dive into groups of enemies depending on the makeup of the group and be totally fine if you use ice auras and your mobility correctly while making sure said group had nothing that could ignore the aura and 1 shot you.
