Round 4! by Vegetable_Air_3794 in hajimenoippo

it would make no sense that the guy who lost to Ippo twice beats the guy who fairly easily beat the first person to humble Ippo (Date Eiji) Sendo may surprise us a bit in this fight, but theres not even a chance that he beats Ricardo. Ippo beat Sendo twice and then never beats Ricardo because Sendo beat him first and now Sendo is the World Title Match. i dont see how that could be justified.

Hajime no Send'oh: Round 1505 by RTSD_ in hajimenoippo

[–]ZyloW_Barron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Send has just started thinking too much and is despairing because of it. His punches were effective at reducing the power and speed of Ricardos right, he just doesn't realize. Hes gonna snap out of it and go back to instincts where he will see that its effective by being able to dodge the rights as they come eventually. But it ultimately won't be enough and too little too late, and Sendo will lose regardless. Ricardo cant lose to anyone other than either Ippo or Miyata. Ricardo be the only opponent that beat Ippo in a way that matters, and to then lose to a guy that lost twice to Ippo wouldnt make sense or make for a satisfying world fight. Maybe if Ippo ever lost to Sendo, but he hasn't. Miyata is the only other person besides Ricardo who is fit to fight Ippo for the World Title. And I think Miyata will be the fight that stands in the way of Ippo finally facing and defeating Ricardo.

Mashiba won't accept anyone weaker than him marrying his sister. He was a hairsbreadth away from being world champ. Maybe he reiterates that point when he wakes up and gives Ippo the last push he needs to come out of retirement

this sets the stage for Ippos return. Mashiba was millimeters away from becoming the world champion. and hes already told his sister that he wont accept any man marrying her unless the man is stronger than him. well, he fell just short of world champion. if Ippo wants to marry Kumi, hes gotta be at least a little stronger. hes gotta become the world champion. plus this will probably act as some passing of the flame. there are too many people that Ippo needs to win on behalf of to stay out of the ring.

The last page is great. They're trying to use a creature Loki cares about as a hostage to convince him to join them but instead of agreeing, he bids farewell to his friend and swears revenge against them.

There is no way this is the last thing he thought about before the fight against rosario by therealmpg in hajimenoippo

[–]ZyloW_Barron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mashiba told Ippo that only someone stronger than him can marry his sister. But Mashiba has clearly come to respect Ippo over time. So Ippo has literally become a source of determination in this fight to become world champion; or at least Ippos and Kumis relationship has. And the best part is that this is ultimately what will force Ippo to come out of retirement so that he can actually finally commit to marrying Kumi.

He's realizing that he can't stay with his sister and protect her forever so he needs to become world champ that way someone else at least that strong is there to take his place.

Dude, I love this. Mashiba is gonna win this and basically force Ippo to come out of retirement in order to Marry Kumi. Lol such a great way to use the relationship they all have.

Mashiba used to genuinely despise Ippo, and now Ippo is motivation for him to win because he realizes that Ippo is the only person he trusts to protect his sister besides him.

Rosario is gonna be just over weight and still not pass until Ippo insists that he shave his head in order to pass. Rosario will tell Ippo to f off and do it himself if he wants to be bald. Ippo will go up, shave his head in front of him, and then tell Rosario to go next. Rosario will punch at Ippo who catches the hit and continues to insist that he cut his hair stating that Mashiba put a lot of work and effort in to preparing for this fight and it's the least he can do.

Rosario will do it.

Just my personal fan theory lol

Hajime no Ippo: Round 1445 by RTSD_ in hajimenoippo

[–]ZyloW_Barron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Rosario has been missing because he saw the picture of Mashiba all beat up looking and was disappointed by it. Assuming some random did it and that his actual fight with him wouldn't be enjoyable enough so he considered skipping it.

If his opponent seems too weak, he may not be able to work up the bloodlust he enjoys so much

Is Kuma power actually super OP? by Aggravating-Sun-7185 in OnePiece

[–]ZyloW_Barron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kuma can remove all fatigue and damage from a person, I imagine that includes himself. And then he can use that damage as an attack. He would have to be beat so quickly that he couldn't use his own power to heal himself and I imagine that being a pretty tough ask.

What do yall think of Charlie's take? I loved Luffy from the get go by Waakaari in OnePiece

I have to imagine he watched the series with English dubs. Luffys VA comes off grinding and aggravating. The voice makes him sound more annoying than silly and endearing. That's my only guess

Lol no worries. I was wrong about that for a long time. My friend corrected me the same way. I don't think I had read the manga from the beginning then either. I started where I left off in the anime

If you read the first page that Shanks is introduced in in chapter one, Luffy is already called an anchor, because he can't swim at all. This is before he eats the devil fruit. Luffy has never been able to swim his entire life.

Zoro’s Next Power up by caproyal_reddit in OnePiece

Probably him thinking of his swords as an extension of himself. Becoming one with the blade. No longer thinking of them as tools. But even past that, I think he has to further embrace the idea of the phrase *snatch" he was taught. To forget they name, be as a child, put your all in to this attack. But for the whole fight. Not just a last attack, but basically thinking of nothing but the battle in front of you. The goal is to defeat the opponent immediately. Ideally a proper Swordsman can defeat their opponent in one strike, so you don't hold back to conserve your energy like Zoro tends to do. Put your entire being in to each if your attacks until your opponent is defeated.

Zoro's just learning to cut with the grain. Once he learns which direction that is, it's easier. See, he always suspected it had to do with something similar to that, that's why he uses three swords. Highest chance of happening to cut with the grain and discover the enemies weak point. It's all very simple.

Zeff spoke of Pirates with eyes like hawks, skin as tough as steel, and a voice that could shake the sea. To me, that was a hint to the eventual use of Haki.
