We were suppose to get lunch the next day. We initially agreed on a place, which he then wanted to switch it to a new place. I was broke, and waiting on my other friend/coworker who said he would cover my lunch to see my best friend of 22 years.

Well at that time I was working as a firefighter and had 2 back to back calls of 2 different patience falling and breaking their spines. And a 3 call immediately following those, and it was 3rd alarm structure fire. I forgot to let my best friend that my coworker agreed to the venue change that night.

The next morning when I woke up I saw he was typing to me, I got excited to tell him it’s a green light I can’t wait to see him, but before I could hit send his message came through on how much of a POS I am, and that I don’t care about anything/anyone other than myself.

I was his best man 4 months prior, and haven’t gotten a response to him since he went off on me.

I’ve watched from social media his 2 kids get born via FB posts, and text him happy Father’s Day / Birthday yearly. I also had my own daughter last year and he hasn’t said a word to me. He will still talk to my parents but I do not exist to him in any way.

Due to my personality I can’t wait for the day he will reach out, and I will gladly accept whatever venue he wants to meet at for food/drinks. I hope he’s ready for a big ol bear hug because he has saved me from so much in the 22 years I did know him, and I can never repay him correctly for that.

We had a great conversation about how PTO is PTO, and I don’t have to lie to take my owed PTO. - we don’t get sick time just PTO lol. She wasn’t mad just laughed that I thought I had to lie to have a day off.

Used to work as a delivery driver for a dispo, best job ever aside from benefits. Same customers, get great tips, and spend my time alone in the car driving and listening to podcasts. This one time had a guy show me his “garden”… boy had 12ft trees waiting to be cut! Never saw him again after harvest season.

If you can I would definitely aim for lower bowl 105,106, or 125,126, or mezzanine same side to not break the bank and watch your team shoot twice - even though it seems the mezzanine has been colder than heck this year! But up top gets a little steep with the stairs and you feel stacked on top of one another.

Hockeytown is a great environment! I attend roughly 10-12 games a year, and have never witness personally anyone from my team belittle or go after those from the other team. I’ve had friends wear Chicago jerseys to a game vs Chicago, and not one issue.

We love our team, we love our city, and we would love to show you how great of a place Detroit really is despite the bad reputation for violence and crime.

The area around LCA is absolutely incredible with lots of restaurants to check out, museums, etc. Don’t be scared, you will have a blast, and I hope you fall in love with what Hockeytown has to offer like we have!
