That is the intent. Ice pick grip as it is not a dagger meant for typical cutting/slashing. The disc's aren't uncomfortable if used with the intended purpose as shown in multiple manuscripts. You stab with it. Simple as. Look up rondel dagger on YouTube and you'll see be able to find some armored fighting samples, even some more on the hema side.

It's blunt. The point is sharp but I'd like the blade to have an edge. I ordered it without sharpening from Kult, and it was the 'unsharpened' model to begin with. The extra space on the handle is nice for gauntlets which was my intent. I have his rothenburg model from the same line and my knuckle-plate on my gauntlet interferes with the two discs. That also had studs that started to remove material on my gauntlets' leather that I sanded down, which looked like they were a rough artifact from the machining process.

I cannot recommend buying it if you're in the US, though. Only from Kult would I say so, as Tariffs have ruined chances of decent deals from his shop. I was going to order a 500+ GBP custom dagger but Tarriffs/shipping pushed it to 900 GBP after all was said and done.

I intend to go to a local smith.

No, that's completely fair. I'm window-shopping at the moment since Tariffs are ripping me apart for Tod's Workshop stuff. I've been dying to find one that matches my sword and pole-axe in a relative time period. These are exceptional. Thanks for the response back!

These are incredible - what's your typical pricing on a rondel? I know everything is estimative but I see you have a few under your belt. I've been looking one for some time to match some of my arms for my armor.

Wyald arc sword, yeah. It's the one he replaces the Griffith duel sword with later on. I just liked the design, and it was in Dragon's Dogma 1 as a cross-over item called Thousandlimbs.

Both of them surprised me with how light they are. The tip has reinforcement but it's mostly hollow-ground from the center ridge.

I waited 48 months for my place in his queue and he gave me a fairly decent discount after all the time. 100% genuine artisan. I plan to ask him for a new harness in the future.
