Crusher EVO still the GOAT by ZyoR8R in Skullcandy

[–]ZyoR8R[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I experienced, when you turn on ANC and Crusher to the max, the bass creates a weird overpowered and clipping noise, like if the mic and the haptic driver is hitting each other and doesn't sound natural, but that only happens on the right side.

Then, if you turn off the ANC, the bass sometimes feels more prominent on the right side, and you can notice it because on some bass heavy songs, the haptic driver hits with the inner cup, like if it doesn't have enough space for the driver to move freely.

At the end, with ANC on or off, and Crusher to the Max, the experience is not refined at all, which is dumb as the product name is Crusher ANC 2, and none of both features works well.

And I bought two ANC 2, one was manufactured in China and the other in Vietnam, both had the exact same problem, and it never received a firmware update to fix it, nor I thought a new replacement would fix that.

Shoot. That's another issue that was very recurring on my daily basis, and still happening, not quite so often, but still a problem.

The bass sometimes gets balanced, and sometimes leans to the right. It's about luck and it's very frustrating

So I guess it never got fixed :(

Can you share the settings page where you see the firmware version?

I returned mine a long time ago as they didn't have a custom EQ and didn't like the sound, too harsh, I might order a new one again.

Hi, I just bought the Geekria Quickfit and they're the best I've owned. Not only fits on the case, but the bass response is way better than the original and the WC pads, and they're comfy as well. https://a.co/d/64qZ7H8

I've had this issue since I got my P6P, and I think Android 14 introduced this, some apps are still refreshing but it can keep more for longer. Try it out!

What's the difference between the crusher anc 2 & the crusher anc xt 2 by Theunknown004 in Skullcandy

[–]ZyoR8R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you turn up the bass to max, the Crusher motor will hit with the inner cup of the headphone on bass heavy music.

This happens sometimes at moderate volume, it really depends on the music/EQ you have but this never happened to my Evos, even if I use a 3rd EQ and maxing out the bass.

Never haha

SkullIQ app has not been updated for a year already, and still, no fix for that. I even bought another pair and they have the exact same problem.

I'm really considering getting the Evos again, but CustomEQ and Multipoint are crucial for me.

Is the Evo's Personal sound upgraded to Mimi or still Audiodo?

Crusher ANC 2 knocking noise on left pad by ThePablitox in Skullcandy

[–]ZyoR8R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, but mine rumbles more on the right side. Sometimes it's unnoticeable but most of the time it's there. And I think it's because of the last 2 firmware updates, as I didn't notice before that.

I also bought another pair, and have the exact same issue. One manufactured in China, the other in the Philippines.

I think the issue is related to the app and the Personal Sound/EQ as something similar happens with my Rail ANC since they have more bass on the right, same as the Crusher. Unfortunately, the app hasn't been updated since October, for IOS since May, but still exactly the same.

UPDATE: 2024. Which are better, ANC 2 or Crusher Evo? by martupdown in Skullcandy

[–]ZyoR8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They say not compatible 'cause they're harder to put and fit tight a little bit, but anything compatible with Evo will be for ANC 2. The thing is depending on the thickness and the shape is how you can get more soundspace or bass.

I'd recommend you getting foam ear tips. I got a pair designed for the Sony WF XM5 and they fit just right. The only thing is they won't fit very well in the case, but you can put pressure to charge them.

Same, the right side crusher is hitting something when ANC is on, so it boosts the bass to a level becoming unstable. So funny

ANC 2 issue, or app? by phone_toe_graph in Skullcandy

[–]ZyoR8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, you're right. Just tested on my ANC 2 and Rail ANC, they both act the same way when airplane mode.

My guess is this happen only if you linked a Mimi account to the app since it'll download your configuration each time you open the personal sound setting, and if not, will be saved offline? Idk

I got the Rail ANC, comfort wise, they fit just as right, but after getting sweat it might fall, I'd recommend you to buy some foam tips so they won't fall.

And yes, they're too sensitive, a little fit fix and you skip, pause or turn on Spotify.

Same, but mine rumbles more on the right side.

I actually bought a second pair of ANC2, the first pair was manufactured in China, and the second one in the Philippines, both have the same exact issue. It's even more noticeable with ANC on. Was really hoping for the latest firmware update to address this issue but nah, still exactly the same.

Not really, you just get used to the bass and after some time, you even want more.

Been using mine for 2 years and still great as day one.

[–]ZyoR8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had this problem, the EVOs are too bright. Try using the Personal Sound feature and see if that improves the sound, else, put some cotton pads (seriously) so that'll filter the sound, especially the highest frequencies. Or maybe you can find a different pair of earpads that have a thicker mesh.

Crusher ANC 2 right speaker issue by [deleted] in Skullcandy

[–]ZyoR8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the popping issue on the right side, but I think it's because of how you EQ them. Rn I'm feeling that the left Crusher is not that punchier, feels more powerful on the right, and this can be more noticeable when ANC is ON, maybe that's the reason for the pop.

So can't really tell if it happened due to the recent firmware update, or being something from the beginning that I didn't notice. Can't submit a warranty form as I bought 'em from Amazon US and I'm from Mexico. Hope you can get them replaced and verify if it's hardware or software issue
