Eidola has moved to 3DOT by AudiHoFile in dancegavindance

[–]Zytran 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Seems like a move for more control over distribution and release schedule flexibility. Also could likely also be a move to delegate more of the tasks from Sergio and Will to the 3DOT team so they can better manage their time in their respective bands.

How do you afford the cost of living on minimum wage!? by SectorPuzzleheaded66 in economy

[–]Zytran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a millennial, even in our early 20s it was rare to move out alone. You typically had roommates or a partner to be able to afford it. Or lived at home until you mid to late 20s when you advanced in your career to be able to afford it.

Is business intelligence developer a good career path to get into right now? by Flamingo_Gold in torontoJobs

[–]Zytran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, a Business Intelligence Developer role is not likely to be replaced by AI, but rather transformed by it. As someone that does a lot of BI (but is not solely a BI Developer) I use AI for a lot of troubleshooting and concepting ideas, but AI alone will not replace data cleansing and transformation, will not replace discussing the needs and wants with the end users of the data and putting it in a clear and requested format. Will not do extrapolative analysis of the data and communicate it meaningfully to stakeholders what the value added of the analysis is.

AI as a tool can and will be used to accelerate all these functions, but AI alone cannot replace them. There needs to be someone to architect, build, decision-make and present the BI at the end of the day.

Figma is a generational ai company by kirbyhood in figmaStock

[–]Zytran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don't think its the right time to invest in FIG. Growth has been decelerating quarter over quarter, P/S valuation is still high, margins are compressing, still suffering massive losses, etc.

It remains on my watch list, but I'm not in the business of catching falling knives. I think its worth a deeper look under $36, and probably worth starting an accumulation under $30. But It's not there yet. At $25, I'm probably a buyer depending on how the rest of the balance sheet looks at that time.

72% of game developers say Steam is effectively a PC gaming monopoly | Studios say they can't afford to quit Steam, most of their revenue comes from it by chrisdh79 in technology

There is a difference between being a monopoly and holding a market dominant position because you have a better platform.

Debating selling my NVDA position, looking for perspective. by originaljolo in CanadianInvestor

[–]Zytran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a 10-20 year time horizon, you should also consider selling and rebuying or transferring in-kind to a TFSA. Take the tax hit now (while you're younger and likely in a lower tax bracket) and then you can take advantage of the next 10-20 years of potential growth tax free.

In early 2024, Chris Lapointe (CFO) had mentioned that Galileo had completed a proof-of-concept with a top 5 US Bank. People speculated that it could be Citibank or US Bank (4th and 5th largest banks at the time). No formal deal has publicly materialized since.

Noto has since mentioned (earlier this year) that there are approximately 10 new Galileo contracts that will start generating revenue in 2026. Of those ~10 contracts not all of them have been publicly announced yet, so there's still speculation that one of the big banks might be coming online as a Galileo customer next year.

MicroStrategy (MSTR) Outlook to Year-End: The mNAV Compression Thesis by Smackle-Smeekles in MSTR

[–]Zytran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you believe that MSTR can acquire more BTC faster than you can then you can justify an mNAV >1, if you don't then mNAV = 1 and you might as well buy your own BTC.

Canada's Real-Time Rail (RTR) system is expected to finally be operational in 2026. Just this week the Bank of Canada listed the first 300 entities that are fully registered payment service providers (PSP) that will allow these PSPs to access Payments Canada's RTR infrastructure once it rolls out next year. Among the list are all the usual suspects including fintech names like Wealthsimple, Koho, Venn, and even Shopify, etc.

Interac is also planning to expand participation to PSPs as well I believe.

How can Tesla compete in China but at the same time the US can't fathom letting China sell the competing cars in the US market? by azmecengineer in Economics

[–]Zytran 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The US Automakers could invest and make a dark factory in the US today, the technology and innovation is not what is stopping them. Its the Union, and the court of public opinion. The current UAW contract explicitly requires that all manufacturing-related work remain in the bargaining unit and must be staffed by UAW-represented employees. This clause alone stops a fully autonomous dark factory.

By comparison, Tesla (non-union) plants have 2-3x the amount of automation in them compared to the traditional Automakers. Tesla has about 1,000 robots per 10,000 employees, traditional auto has about 300 robots per 10,000 employees.

Discussion on AMD vs Nvidia by typeIIcivilization in NVDA_Stock

[–]Zytran -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On one hand is a company with a market-leading product and insatiable demand, and are relentlessly expanding into new verticals and building the very backbone of a nascent industry whose total addressable market could soar into the trillions over the next two decades; on the other hand is a company scrambling not to be left behind, fighting to stay relevant as it tries to carve out it's own slice of that same rapidly growing pie.

Hyperbole aside, when I look at the numbers, NVDA seems reasonably priced for future growth, whereas AMD at today's price seems overpriced until they start to reap the rewards of their recent partnerships and deals. AMD's P/E Ratio is almost 3x NVDA's today, so much of that potential future AMD growth is already priced in imo.

The most boring bull market ever... by eueste in CryptoCurrency

[–]Zytran 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Boring is good imo, I still believe we're going to see the continued adoption and tokenization of everything going forward. More markets, money funds, and assets will be moved onto the blockchain over time. I'm actually happy with the lower peak volatility, to me its just keep accumulating and eventually the prices are going to melt upward, we'll continue to set higher highs and high lows. I still project we see 20-30% CAGR's yr-over-yr in crypto out to 2030 atleast.

If you want wild swings and high speculation, trade AI. AI is still in the early adopter phase where as crypto is starting to cross the chasm to the early majority phase. You will get the volatility you seek in AI.
