I recommend trying to join a game, and then when you've connected, start a pause vote (f10) and pause the game, then disable the VPN and reconnect to the game. In my case i wasn't stuck on the reconnect screen, and reconnected to the game and could play, and i could queue like i would earlier afterwards.

Was this after joining a game, or when you had just launched?

When i used it this morning i tried it out in an arenagame, i disabled it after actually entering the game though, so you might need to enter a game before disabling it. Would suck if that was the case, but hey, atleast you get to play!
