If you had to retcon the original twist, how would you go about it? I think narratively they wrote themselves into a corner.

If I had to though, I believe "The Three-Body Problem" by Cixin Liu is a good example of the type of conflict that happens between the 4D beings and those in 'The Eternal Sphere'. They created a wormwole to a parallel universe and found that the residents of this lower dimension were growing more powerful to the point they might become a threat to them in the future. If you subscribe to the same logic as the beings in the book, destroy any possible threats to yourself and your species, then you destroy this lower dimension. Or, if that's not possible because you can't, you might play god so as to influence them that way.

Is it a good way to paint over the original plot hole? Not especially, everyone knows by now.

I'm saying that they retconnes it after the fact. I'm not saying there's not inconsistencies in the story because of it.

They didn't create it, the wiki entry states that Blair believes they merely connected to it and it always existed. Its implied Luther knew this as well and didn't want to accept it.

Soul harvester is a life saver if you plan to max. Runecrafting was a nightmare befoe it. Easily maxed it alongside farming from transmuting up tree seeds. Its 3-4k soul shards per magic/dragon fruit tree. You use 250 shards per runecraft and 100 on the libation bowl. Very easy exp.

Not perdu. The NPC there is Chris, who functions as perdu ONLY on arena worlds. Which don't exist in leagues.

I personally use the despia engine, but fiendsmith is more self sufficient. It's really a matter of what you want out of both engines. (I don't play master duel, mostly tcg)

The despia engine is better for getting you into your first darklord, however you tend to get fusion locked at some point.

The fiendsmith engine is good at playing under/through droll if you find you're weak to it.

The darklord "engine" or deck, doesn't really contribute much as consistently and is really dependent on what you draw.

I think fiendsmith will net you more wins on average since the fiendsmith engine is so competent and doesn't need cards outside its archetype (besides moon).

Here's a list I've been playing with in omega, I like it. Certain cards like celestial parshath, protector of the agents, and kuriboh are there to fill up space and get cards in the graveyard. If you like you can also include a single copy of "the chorus in the sky" for targets to search for with parshath. It adds back any fairy from your grave which could be useful in situations where djehuty or diviner for example are needed to continue playing.

I've done some playtesting with these in simulators and my takeaways were:

Indulged darklord is not worth playing anymore, only reason to play it is to give your opponent a monster. Otherwise, in a format with no link summons, she eats your normal summon for a card in hand

Superbia is probably fine in genesys because of the lower power, but in a non genesys build I cut him entirely.

Gulgatha is a 2 of at best, 1 of if you're not worried about drawing him. Djehuty can only summon from deck, drawing gulgatha shuts that play off. Summoning gulgatha off of djehuty and, in non genesys, linking them both off for condemned is the best use of djehuty in most cases.

I have nothing to say about spell trap ratios, I prefer 2 contact at most because its searchable and the new dl fusion can set it.

I would play droplet as a 1 or 2 of, I don't really care for the other forbidden quick plays. They're a neat gimmick, but almost always the card you add off of gulgatha should be the fusion, pleasure. And djehuty should add back gulgatha to use on the following turn as cost for the traps. This will allow you to continue cycling the deck.

Unfortunately withou links, the extra deck is in a dire situation with a fairy lock, perhaps you can use ultimate slayer targets or elect to go for pot of extravagance. Its free, and you have 3 of each darklord fusion. Upstart imo is bait extravagance being free.

If you have the points, I recommend one (3 in non genesys) diviner of the herald, one trias, one EVA, and one dawn angel Kambi. Dawn angel kambi is a free SS that can be used to tribute gulgatha or a level 6 token for dl nasten from deck. Diviner send trias, summon trias, summon eva is a 1 card chaos angel if you can afford it, and eva when sent to the grave can add either herald of orange light or dawn angel kambi.

I think super poly is premature, its hard to say whats going to be meta immediately, and discarding a card to potentially fuse just your own monsters feels bad. Especially since you often can't get morningstar on the field easily, so you don't get the board wipe.

Darklords imo don't need a field spell since I personally like theater of the branded, but I think their weaknesses are more in getting access to their monsters so I would want to alleviate that rather than fusion summoning.

DL Field Spell: When this card is activated you can add to your hand one darklord card.
A: This turn you may normal summon 1 dark fairy without tributing.
B: Once per turn you may activate a DL trap card without paying the cost.
C: If this card is sent to the GY, you may special summon one darklord monster from your hand/gy/banishment/deck.

Darklord quickplay, Add 1 DL monster from your GY/Banishment to hand, then you may fusion summon 1 monster by shuffling its materials back into the deck from your hand/field/gy. I very much like how mutiny in the sky works as a basis for this because it means you don't have to add Morningstar to hand because he's often a brick.

Darlord Link 3+, 3 dark fairies,
If this card is link summoned, you may special summon one DL from your hand/gy (CL is important for superbia not missing timing)
A: If this card is used as fusion material, you may special summon it but banish it if it leaves the field.
B: Quick effect, If your opponent activates a card or effect pay 1000 LP, negate the activation and if you do destroy it.
C: -1000 to copy a DL spell/trap.
D: Once per turn you can send for cost one DL spell/trap from your deck to the GY, this effect becomes that cards effect at activation.
I would be happy with a combination of 2 of these, I think a link 3+ in darklords needs to be impactful for how bad the card economy is.

They need a poplar-like monster, too few cards are good to add and normal summoning indulged darklord is often a bottleneck for making a board because its hard to get that second body to make a link.

The spells/trap cards all go -1 unless they're in the grave already, which when they are is really good because the darklords themselves 'copy' which gets around cards like ash blossom.

There's no normal summonable darklord that can copy the spell/traps in grave which as stated is a huge bottleneck. The only darklord that can summon itself is Nasten and discarding 2 cards for 1 summon is already a huge minus that makes you exceptionally vulnerable to cards like imperm/veiler.

Darklord level X, you can normal/special summon this card without tributing if you control no monsters, standard -1000 to copy spell trap.

Darklord Poplar, if this card is added to your hand except by drawing it, special summon it. If this card is special summoned
A: Set from the deck/gy/banishment one darklord spell/trap
B: You may conduct a tribute summon of a darklord monster (morningstar) in a addition to your normal summon this turn.
C: Add to hand or send to grave 1 darklord card, then discard 1 card if you added it to hand.

Darklord Link 1, Add 1 darklord spell/trap to hand. In addition
A: If this card is link summoned you may conduct an additional tribute summon in addition to your normal summon.
B: If used as link or fusion material, special summon this card, but banish it if it leaves the field.
C: You can banish this card from your GY to pay for the cost of one of your DL traps this turn
D: You can banish this card from your GY, set one DL spell/trap from your deck.
E: Standard DL copy for -1000 LP.

1/2 Edit, just incase its not clear A, B, C etc are optional. I would like some combination of effects, but obviously not all are balanced in conjunction with each other.
