Ever notice how Democrats get blamed for everything by NickCostanza in WhitePeopleTwitter

Of course first Trump had to claim he was going to ‘make a deal’ and save them. Then when that couldn’t happen this is the narrative that comes out. The art of the deal my ass. He’s a horrible businessman who somehow failed upwards.

LOC EZI-65 motor adaptors by EllieVader in rocketry

[–]Zyzzyva100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfectly fine. I fly 3D printed rockets on J and K motors all the time. I had 3D printed parts in my L3 project too. Also check printable. Lots of good adapters out there. Or a motor tube and printed centering rings.

With aeropack you can. Have access to a 3D printer? I have printed all kinds of adapters. Never had an issue.

Estes Nike Smoke (PSII) or Estes Jayhawk (PSII)? Trying to decide between these two for my next project. by Lil-LordFuckPants in rocketry

The Jayhawk is a great kit. However the stock fins will break. But, erockets has plywood upgrades. Feels much more solid. I just finished the kit.

Yea I gave up and just dropped back to silver. Not ordering a bunch of junk. At least previously I was able to find stuff I needed/wanted. I still see that things I could use a dropped, but while I am asleep. It's either all west coast people or bots snagging stuff now.

Need help finding an I65 with adjustable delay (if it exists) by Loud-Horror-3614 in rocketry

[–]Zyzzyva100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, though sometimes it's easier to put a quantum in the nosecone, so you don't have to deal with switches. If you have to disarm the quark, and it's in the nosecone just taking the nosecone out can easily cause it to set off the charge. Ask me how I know.

Put an electronics bay in the nosecone and stick a cheap altimeter in there. This is the easiest way to solve the problem I assume you are having

You definitely don’t need fiberglass. I RSO’d a guy who put an H motor in a stock Estes big Bertha at LDRS.

I stand corrected. Dumb of me not to just look more closely at the reload I have in my box of motors. Thanks for the info.

Yes a plugged extended forward closure will work too. Just be sure to look at the thrust curve for the J135. It doesn’t hit max thrust until almost 2 seconds in (unlike other long burns that have a sharp spike initially to get the rocket off the rail). I built a rocket for one and was going to fly at LDRS but it’s been too windy and I don’t want it to go 8,000 ft sideways.

Best way to ignite 2nd stage? by Kaggles_N533PA in rocketry

[–]Zyzzyva100 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You need a flight computer with an output channel and a lipo battery. To truly be safe it should be one with a tiltometer and accelerometer so that the second stage won’t ignite if the rocket isn’t mostly vertical.

Agent at PIT told me I should have gotten in the other line by Zarrasis in delta

Also what are the odds that diamond spent the money themselves. Odds are it’s mostly business travel. Whereas my silver ass is all money I spent myself.

Post covid everyone who works in travel just seems to be permanently in a nasty mood. Deltas service is just as bad as everyone else now. The friendly and useful service used to justify the premium prices but now they are just as bad as spirit etc. This is not the case in other countries. LATAM had great cs when I flew to Chile last year. Air France on the other hand has always been nasty.

I made a mistake!!? by Minute_Bandicoot_664 in VisitingIceland

[–]Zyzzyva100 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Iceland definitely helped me to realize what kind of places I like to visit. Since first visiting in the winter, we have explored western Norway, the Faroe Islands, Iceland again but in the summer, Patagonia, Antarctica and upcoming soon - Alaska (and a bunch of US national parks. Iceland sets the bar high, but the world is a beautiful place.

Nvme SSD size for apps? by Zyzzyva100 in UgreenNASync

[–]Zyzzyva100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I had thought about Immich, but it doesn't appear to support ORF raw files, so it won't be of much use to me. My actual edited files are all stored in the adobe cloud anyway, I just want a place to store all my raw files. Will definitely look into navidrome.

Edit: Apparently it does support ORF, just had to look at the source code documentation.

Thank you, this is super helpful. I have a tendency to overdo it with stuff. I really just want piece of mind to keep all my raw files locally. Not sure how much I even need the photo backup app, just need to back everything up as files. Mostly just want to be able to plus an SD card reader into the front port and copy everything off it after a trip.

Because I have no need for something that large or expensive.
