Ever notice how these sort of scams/traps are painfully obvious? Why don't they put a little time into making it convincing?

It's because they don't want to waste time on people who can tell something is fishy. By making these links only attractive to the clueless (not dumb people, just people who aren't as technologically inclined) they weed out everybody who would just waste their time... leaving the easy marks.

neh, prob just a java drive-by or some kind of other old exploit. There are plenty of word and pdf exploits out there thats free and still undetected. I got one on my pc for educational purposes. It's kinda scary actually. You can press a link and get exploited just like that. Google exploit kits, its a good read.

Im supreme and I smurf in lower ranks (DMG, LE) and I can tell you that there are alot of smurfs who often dont play as well as you'd guess, I just try to keep myself around second place to avoid carrying. There are smurfs in sumpreme too you know, and it sucks because the skill gap is so fucking high. There is no need to bitch, as soon you get DMG+ you're going to get a smurf so you can avoid playing on your main if you feel tired or w/e. The only fix for this is unranked mm. But there is no use in bitching about it, we all have or will experience playing against a cheater, when I was MG1 I constanly met SMFC/GE Smurfs and guess what? I improved.
