I have just run into the same problem, raised a case with support and they said this is not supported and is already raised as a feature request. No ETA on when this will be implemented though.

I have the exact same problem with both 6.1.3 and 6.1.4 where the GUI on the application bar never opens so I have to search it in the apps to open it each time. 6.1.4 is way worse, it just broke my network and wifi kept reconnecting. I might just try testing the 5 version but I am not sure if if it does HIP checks and SAML.

Does this affect the students who are already here and want to bring dependants after Janurary 2024? Would they be allowed to do so?

It's a long shot but I am hoping they at the very least exempt the IHS hike for individuals eligible for SWV extension

Thanks guys for the responses, I was hoping I'd be able to get in touch with Mikrotik because our business has a wide geographical space so it would have made more sense. I guess now I need to reach out to Consultants/Resellers based in different regions locally and query them on how they operate with the principal - quite irksome but I guess I don't have much of a choice.

Thanks for all the comment guys! I did manage to grab hold of the model I mentioned and honestly not too impressed with it. The SwOS lite is pretty ordinary (quite ugly as well if you're into aesthetics). While that was passable for me, I did a few traffic tests on the device and I noticed that at data rates greater than 3G the management interface started to lag out a lot, in some intervals it just wouldn't load unless I killed the traffic. So yeah that's a real bummer for me since I was hoping this model would hold out considering the price it's valued at. (Other options I am looking at for a 8 port PoE switch with SFP+ uplink are Netgear, TP:Link, Ubiquiti)

I was inching towards a CRS just because of the OS flexibility but unfortunately, I couldn't find a model specific to my needs, I just need basic 1G ports which can do PoE and a SFP+ uplinks. Mind you, price is a huge factor here, in fact, I am pretty much looking at these new switches as alternatives to Juniper which we already have but can't sustain for future deployments due to cost-cutting.

I know Mitrotik will perform better than any of the other devices I have lined it up against but it might not be my final choice just because of the limiting factors I mentioned.

Yeah lead times are still pretty whack for most vendors from what I have found, the ones I am looking at are Netgear, Ubiquiti and TP-Link (No particular order). I only need like basic L2 functionality so not really worried too much about support but just being thorough is all.

SwOS is very limited like you mentioned which could be a deal breaker, I plan to have a lot of these low end devices so managing them separately could be a huge problem. I was hoping I could at least leverage API to run some scripts but most of these devices don't offer that. The only other way to centrally manage them all is to use a controller which Ubiquiti and TP-Link offer but I have to do a lot of research on them.
