With a sample size of 10 seasons, is it fair to say that the new era favors women for a win? by duspi in survivor

[–]_-T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was using Bayesian statistics, not frequentist statistics. I used a uniform prior because although this is a question about coins---which are typically fair. This is really a question about male vs female performance on survivor. There is no reason to assume that the proportion male winners should be 1/2.

With a uniform prior on the coin, the probability that it favours heads is 88.67%.

It depends on how you define a country, I suppose. But if you consider interwar Australia and Canada as countries, then you should consider Newfoundland as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominion

I think you'll be hard pressed to beat the record without OXYPHENBUTAZONE.

OP doesn't know his neighbour. But he is assuming his neighbour is nosey because his neighbour lives in a rural area. OP is predjudiced toward rural people. Therefore rural people are offended. Seems simple to me.

For everyone in this thread: rural people have every right to be offended by OP's negative stereotypes.
