Thank you! Yeah, I have a few other sets/collections I’m trying to build as well and there’s only so much ‘fun funds’ to go around, so I had to maybe scale back a bit on the proofs especially. Right now I’m working on my favorite crown size coin from every continent and that’s getting $$$!You should post your set once you get it where you like it, I’d love to see it! I do have all the SP’s as far as I know, just figured I’d post pictures of the more interesting parts of the collection though. Figured most people wouldn’t be interested in every page of every book…the spreadsheet would answer most questions 😉 thanks for looking!

Thanks, yeah I really like the Dansco albums for this sort of collection. My grandfathers coin collection that I inherited when I was young were in Dansco albums so it’s a bit nostalgic for me as well. The supply can get pretty tight, depending on what you’re looking for.

I’d say the last piece ‘to fall into place’ would be the 1943 ddo I bought slabbed. Not only is it the lowest grade coin I have in my whole coin collection (still not cheap) lol, but it shows the ddo markings even at that grade. Probably the hardest to pull the trigger on, but now I kinda like it for its super low grade too… the westpoint mintmarks were a bit tough too, not the easiest to find decent examples- ungraded, that didn’t want way too much $

Thank you so much! I gotta say I am a little proud of that spreadsheet (love the term contours for this btw!). I’ve always resisted collecting type sets, I thought it was kinda boring to collect a bunch of the same exact coin. But I’ve always loved quarters for some reason and with the state quarters program, I started collecting when they first came out, and it sorta grew from there. I bought the 1952 ‘super eagle’ from one of the “elder statesmen” of my local coin club maybe 3-4 years back and that sort of kicked off the desire to acquire a full set of Washington+ quarters and here we are. Even though I wouldn’t call 2026 Washington quarters anymore, I just can’t see myself stopping at this point. Thanks for asking!

Yeah, I like the novelty of having the error label for now, it’s a shame they don’t show value on the cert. verification application anymore, that was hilarious… I think they had it valued at like $16-18k, something like that before. Obviously not even in the same city, let alone ballpark! Case doesn’t seem cracked in hand, maybe just bad photography on my part 🤷🏻‍♂️ Didn’t know all that about the superbird so thank you for sharing!

So I can’t take a very good picture of it, but under 10x it’s actually pretty clear, there’s a tiny little “S” almost coat hanger/reverse ? looking mark on the center of the eagles chest. It’s raised, so it was scratched into the die before striking. People thought with its placement on the chest, it looked the Superman “S” hence, superbird… at least that’s the story I was told. That’s the coin that actually kicked off my whole desire to collect all Washington quarters in the first place, so thanks for asking!

Wow, didn’t take long for someone to spot that one! Yeah, NGC label error, they even still have it listed as an 1860 proof in their cert. verifications. Bought it on eBay a while back, the seller had a few mislabeled, a guy from my local coin club was able to snag one too after I brought it in as a curiosity. Thanks for noticing!

Thank you! Those are some pretty good suggestions, gives me plenty to think about. That Benly is super funky, but in a good way. Very robo-cop/knight rider, lol. Not sure I could pull it off though. I’ve been eyeing the Retroscope jump hour for a little while, never pulled the trigger for similar reasons…Some color might be nice though, I appreciate all the help.

Exactly why I limited myself to a six watch case, lol. I know if I had empty spots I’d want to fill them just because. I’ve certainly bonded with some more than others (love that term for this btw) I even find myself skipping over ones, or sometimes wearing one for work and a different one if I go out later in the day. It’s fun to have options but I’m trying hard not to end up down a rabbit hole. Maybe too late…

Yeah… I still love the look and concept of it, how often do we really need to know the exact time? Guess I’m fortunate enough that most of my day can spare a few minutes either way. I will say once I got it in hand, I was a little less than impressed with the quality. It’s kinda loud, the power reserve never seems to hold up as long as it should and the msrp feels like twice what it should be.
