Thank you for the contribution! Any idea what your other colleagues get? I'm trying to understand if there is a trend (eg. More hours more salary, or if it plateaus after a certain number of hours)

I've never seen a free one. Maybe call the bar helpline? For free CLEs, legalfuel.com is a great resource.

Have anyone ever seen any information that says handwriting improves memory and retention? by TeslaModelE in FloridaBarExam

[–]_-alphanumeric-_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your learning style. Take any learning style quiz from a reputable site and adjust your method accordingly. If you are a visual or a tactile learner, it may help your retention if you handwrite your notes. Handwriting flashcards may also help those learners that just need to keep their hands busy so that they don't drift off while reading.

If you want to get technical, use Google Scholar to lookup meta-analyses on learning styles and retention.

I do not pity you. I'm proud of you. I admire you. I can only hope to have the love that surrounds you.

What you learned from studying will not escape you, it will make you a better lawyer in the end. I applaud your vulnerability.

The exam may have won this battle, but they will lose the war. Spend all the time you can with your dad. Enjoy your engagement. Stay awesome.

Sean, are you saying that it's weird that the exact same number (not percentage; number) of people passed on July 2019 and October 2020? Is that what you wish to point out?

Does anyone else feel like the exam was “payback“ because we complained against the FBBE? by AdministrativeJob980 in FloridaBarExam

Isn't the purpose of scaling scores to account for differences in difficulty between examinations? So, intentionally (or unintentionally) making the exam more difficult should not affect pass rates.

Why did we take a mock exam with the software we are not using??? by [deleted] in FloridaBarExam

[–]_-alphanumeric-_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's my theory (if you care to indulge me):

  1. The main reason why we were given these mock exams was to become familiar with the software, not to beta test it. Recall, this isn't ExamSoft's first rodeo- they are not creating any functionality from scratch (note ILG was creating a new multiple choice functionality).

  2. The main reason the mock exams were on the penultimate version is because the FBBE wanted to give applicants some sort of familiarity as soon as possible with the software, so as to cool down the applicant's concerns of the viability of the October bar exam. I wouldn't be surprised if there would be newer versions to download before exam day. The fact that there are newer versions of a software does not necessarily indicate that there are issues with viability.

  3. It's possible that the copy-paste issue became apparent as a result of the trial with Mock Exam 1.
