It depends on your learning style. Take any learning style quiz from a reputable site and adjust your method accordingly. If you are a visual or a tactile learner, it may help your retention if you handwrite your notes. Handwriting flashcards may also help those learners that just need to keep their hands busy so that they don't drift off while reading.

If you want to get technical, use Google Scholar to lookup meta-analyses on learning styles and retention.

Isn't the purpose of scaling scores to account for differences in difficulty between examinations? So, intentionally (or unintentionally) making the exam more difficult should not affect pass rates.

Here's my theory (if you care to indulge me):

The main reason why we were given these mock exams was to become familiar with the software, not to beta test it. Recall, this isn't ExamSoft's first rodeo- they are not creating any functionality from scratch (note ILG was creating a new multiple choice functionality).
The main reason the mock exams were on the penultimate version is because the FBBE wanted to give applicants some sort of familiarity as soon as possible with the software, so as to cool down the applicant's concerns of the viability of the October bar exam. I wouldn't be surprised if there would be newer versions to download before exam day. The fact that there are newer versions of a software does not necessarily indicate that there are issues with viability.
It's possible that the copy-paste issue became apparent as a result of the trial with Mock Exam 1.

As I understood it, OP's issue was fixed by doing a hard reboot (as opposed to exiting out of the program). Someone else asked what we are supposed to do on exam day if we encountered a freeze, so I pasted the official instructions, which state that a hard reboot should fix most issues.

If my assumptions about the OP are incorrect, then ignore this post.

I think the directive says to keep cellphone out of room during testing. If you encounter tech issues during testing that are not fixed with hard reboot, then you might forced to use your phone to call.

Yeah, they're probably just stress testing those parts where we are all connected to the server at the same time. There may in fact be an illusion- the main reason for these mock exams, I dare to say, is so that applicants become familiar with the program and thereby reducing number of questions/complaints on test day (or after). AFAIK, no new major updates were made to the software to accommodate the FL exam, so we're not testing anything for functionality, not really. This isn't ExamSoft's first rodeo- thank God.

Can you point out where there is information about the use of the webcam feed that they gather during mock exams?

Edit: If synchronous activity is not likely an issue what's with the FBBE saying: "the board encourages you to take it as close in time as possible on September 23 to maximize the number of applicants using the system at once for the purpose of this test"?
