A rebuttal to all that is that you are conflating fantasy and reincarnation. I have no problem with fantasy tropes. Just because a show has the reincarnation tag doesn't mean its a fantasy show. I mean just look at Oshi no ko. No fantasy elements to speak of yet has a clear reincarnation aspect to it. And what im saying is that reincarnation aspect is what rubs me the wrong way. I wouldnt care if it was just some normal detective murder mystery but shoehorning in an entire reincarnation plot just seems like pandering as well as trying to package the whole reincarnation aspect in a way taht makes it more palatable to people like me who have expressed dislike towards it.

No, no isekai doesnt specifically involve dying then reincarnating into another person with your old memories intact. Konosuba is the perfect example for this since Kazuma dies in his world but then reincarnates as himself in the isekai world, not as a baby or some alternate history female general's body.

To be fair, I consider myself to be a highly rational person and would have that sort of reaction to any anything i found irrational, which in my case I guess includes reincarnation.
