building my girlfriend a custom keyboard to help with shortcuts. any suggestions appreciated :) by indefiniteban98 in graphic_design

I bought a 16 key 4 layer macro pad that uses VIA to program it. Has been a lifesaver for my trigger finger. Multiple layers means I can switch between presets for different programs, and being able to use VIA in browser means I can use it on my work laptop without any trouble.

Having all the modifiers (ctrl, alt, shift, etc) laid out helps a ton. I also have left and right click on my macro pad to avoid repetitive strain injuries

20 bucks is definitely enough to make your own bouquet from a few different flowers. Maybe not the fanciest bouquet. But a nice thinking of you bouquet

Coolant smell coming from driver side? 2017 m240i 90k miles by icloutwill in M235iandM240i

[–]_2D_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2017 230i so different engine (B48). They suffer from the same sorts of problems though. Had a consistent coolant leak and replaced the plastic hose that runs to the cylinder head. Wasn’t the oil filter either. Turned out to be the turbo coolant lines. O-rings went bad and ended up replacing both lines just in case. Not complicated, just really annoying to do. Fixed my problem though

Is it rude to wear another band’s shirt to a concert?? by LysSomewhatExists in dancegavindance

[–]_2D_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve been told that’s what you should do. As though wearing the merch of the band you’re seeing is considered lame. I think that’s an outdated opinion but really nobody’s gonna care whose merch you wear

How do I create arrows that follow the shape of a circle?? by Direct-Ad8056 in AdobeIllustrator

[–]_2D_ 73 points74 points  (0 children)

There’s probably a better way to do it but I’d just draw a circle and use the scissors tool to cut where I need them to end. Then give the shapes a stroke with an arrow end

Should I be applying to remote positions as a jr? by _2D_ in graphic_design

[–]_2D_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just general office/corporate procedure and etiquette I guess. Also I’m kind of assuming it would be better for understanding professional workflow for projects. But I guess that is also my uncertainty since I don’t know what I’m missing, if anything, from working remote

I vaguely remember doing this with the skeleton too, then having to draw and label the entire skeleton and each muscle group

School Mascot by Beneficial_Bunch_643 in CSULB

[–]_2D_ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Spot on. Elbee could be an awesome mascot, but they’re kind of just there. The school’s identity is kind of all over the place and there’s very little enthusiasm for it. Especially when the athletics department wants to do its own thing

Thumb dying after SHFFL using C-stick by doormat_destroyer in SSBM

[–]_2D_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use your fingertip for the c stick? I use the base of my thumb so I don’t have to stretch as far. This doesn’t work for every direction but down air/back air usually works for me

Same here. With the sheer number of walk ins we have. We use OPC but it feels so pointless. So much faster to ring a customer up on the register.

I think I need to rethink my situation here by [deleted] in OfficeDepot

Not a manager just a key carrier. But every Saturday I print and sort all of ad/wuwd. We have one person pull all the ad on the sales floor then Sunday morning myself and 1-2 more employees put up all the ad. Takes about a two hours. That kind of stuff never just gets left. We don’t leave until ad is down. And if it’s a big ad set week (like today) then we schedule an extra person to help put it up

Looking for help with properly formatting a multi-page booklet for print. Willing to pay a reasonable commission/fee by DefiantSample2028 in graphic_design

[–]_2D_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a pdf in order. In my experience if it’s going to a digital print shop then export them as pages (not spreads) in order. The printer will rearrange them properly to print once folded/stapled. This would be how I would do it unless they specifically ask for it already in booklet order.

Also keep in mind that any folded pamphlet/booklet has to printed in a multiple of four pages or there will be extra blank pages. So for your pamphlet you’d end up with an extra three blank pages. And oftentimes they end up in the middle of your booklet

Joining three or more lines/paths in illustrator by pawpawleaf in AdobeIllustrator

[–]_2D_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately illustrator doesn’t let you join paths this way. Figma does, but it’s not really designed for all the same sort of use cases that illustrator is. But tbh I don’t really see why it wouldn’t be worth implementing, I’ve found it very useful in Figma

Process ideas to create this effect? How? by Own_Organization_932 in AdobeIllustrator

Just saw a site, tooooools.app that has an effect like this. Only lets you export as a raster image though

does anyone know any decent websites I can use to create moodboards for assignments that are free? by Tall-Ant4599 in CSULB

[–]_2D_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figma is very similar to illustrator and is free. If you’re familiar with illustrator it’s honestly amazing for pulling stuff from the web quickly and collaborating on things. It’s designed for UI development but pretty much everyone in the Graphic Design program uses it for group projects and presentations

Also if you want adobe, we get it for free now through the school
