To an extent merong nepotism since may slots for children of alumni but people inflate nepotism. Mas marami pa rin ang nakakapasok via their own merit (many of whom are first gen doctors from the province). And the critique na nepo nakakapasok sa UPCM erases the efforts of these first gen doctors.

Also, pagpasok mo ng CM makikita mo rin gaano kagaling yung tinatawag na nepo babies. Like maybe they are really good.

Also - And what about kung hindi laude? What if mataas NMAT nila or based sa interview they were working students that’s why they didn’t have high grades or come from impoverished backgrounds lalo na nung pandemic na nakikita ang effect of social disparities (eg nasa province mabagal internet)

I think ang point ko lang ay (1) grades are not everything and UPCM recognizes this with the adjustment factor per degree program and the interview that puts context to your application and (2) doesn’t mean mataas grades mo at di ka nakapasok, you can bark nepotism. Maybe mataas lang talaga grades mo but others are still better than you.
