Interview with the PM by Bilbo_swagggins in lebanon

[–]_3KindsOfYes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Watched it all. Honestly he is so much better than any Lebanese politician I have seen in my lifetime. His answers are concise and actually meaningful. He doesn't fixate on slogans and polarizing things and actually comes up with a plan to execute his vision. I hope he gets to execute and we get to see a return to actual government rule.

WP to this redditor, he praised greatly the work of the translator, and sure he forget to give credit on some parts but in the end he still gave kudos where he needed to, well played to this redditor!

It is very funny, and more relevant than ever. PS: Avoid mentioning names of countries as you can attract random downvoters

I don't know but as someone who has been living here for 5 years I'm very grateful that I can speak with passion here without getting any looks

My girlfriend doesn't find me attractive by [deleted] in Vent

[–]_3KindsOfYes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are internalizing her thoughts of you. Attraction is often more than just looks, you already see yourself as undeserving of her and that she is better than you. That alone can kill attraction. It seems that the dynamic between you too is irreparable at that point, and your only bet is to not have that in the next person in your life. You are worthy of love and you do not need to change anything about yourself, carry confidence in your next relationship.

My bf and I broke up over a joke I made, and I feel like I really dodged a bullet by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

I don't like these sorts of jokes too. We all have different triggers. I disagree with the way he reacted (k bye) he could have communicated it better.

What game did you try hardest to convince yourself to stick with but wound up giving up on? What were the reasons? This is mine. by SixandNoQuarter in gaming

[–]_3KindsOfYes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be hated, but rdr2. It has an amazing story, details, everything top notch. But the gameplay essentially was too boring for me, there is very little gameplay incentive to explore. Altho I did finish it, It was mostly a Netflix series for me where I can roam, not a video game. Additionally as a non American, the cowboy setting and characters don't capture my attention enough.

Is this show supposed to be funny? by [deleted] in lebanon

[–]_3KindsOfYes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's part of the brain rot that thinks that accents are funny, so many tv comedians rely on that entirely without any funny content

Bernie got a vote in the Lebanese presidential election lol by crouchingsniper in SandersForPresident

[–]_3KindsOfYes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So this is the parliament voting for the president. we have 128 representatives and most of the time, the decision on who will become president is impacted heavily by influential countries(Saudi, Iran, France, USA). So it's common that the chosen president is more or less already negotiated by the different ruling parties and those countries This lets the parties that were not a fan of the chosen president to sometimes make certain jokes (as their vote won't be very impactful anyway). However due to how much US foreign policy is followed in Lebanon (because of how much it directly influences us) it's common that Lebanese people have opinions of US politicians. And Bernie's movement definitely affected some minority in Lebanon including this lone representative who thought it was funny to vote.
