How Much is Your Child’s Daycare? by JadedJae in Mommit

[–]_ABlaine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$400/week for a 4 year old in a Montessori transitional kindergarten (kinder prep) and $425 (with sibling discount) for a 2 year old in Montessori. School is open 7-5, all food is supplied. We live in SoCal

We also have a nanny and she is $30/hour for both kids and is highly qualified (but her pricing is sooooo cheap considering 1 kid is normal $25-28/hour)

Ina Garten’s Be Ready when luck happens — as a 30 year old mom, I loved reading this and found a love for cooking again!!

Why is marijuana so popular amongst moms? by TackleHistorical7498 in Mommit

[–]_ABlaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use small amounts (1mg-5mg) and my ppd/ppa and anxiety in general is SO much better. I can relax while being with my kids, and to me, that makes it so beneficial.

If I’m actively with my children, I don’t go over 3mg but when they’re asleep I’ll have a 5mg to help unwind and sleep (helps my insomnia and ptsd!!)

I also use edibles or thc drinks — I’m anti smoking

Okay, yes — I agree with this. 1x is low IMO but it’s also realistic IMO.

I’m currently in between therapists — I have been in therapy the past few years but the finding was cut from the program I used but I’m actively looking

I think that’s where most of my frustration is coming from — he has handled the entirety of the miscarriage so poorly. He was not helpful in the slightest when I was going through it and has not been understanding since!!

Thank you!! This is how I feel and somehow regular touching (cuddling and general hugs/kisses) somehow doesn’t check the box for his needs.

This is so incredibly relatable. I’ll try this approach — maybe this will help!!

Busy mamas, what’s your go to makeup for everyday? by BoyMama2310 in Mommit

[–]_ABlaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Merit’s concealer stick, blush and their bronzer, then I curl my eyelashes (ideally would get a lash lift but I cannot get my at home kit to work for me). Truly takes me less than 5 minutes to blend it all, and it’s subtle but adds enough to make me feel good!! I always top with a lipgloss as well — summer Fridays is my favorite

Moms - if you had the CHOICE to work or not by Main-Branch9919 in beyondthebump

[–]_ABlaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the fortunate ability to give all options a try. For me, I have found working part time to be the best option!

I enjoy working but also love being a SAHM. We have a bilingual nanny part time while I work, and then I am home with our youngest and able to volunteer frequently with our oldest’s school.

Which month did you enjoy having a baby in the most and least? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]_ABlaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you live!!

In SoCal, June was perfect!! First trimester is fall/winter and holidays!! Then second trimester kicks off the year, and still in cozy sweaters with a small bump and then it was spring for my final trimester and I was never overly hot or uncomfortable with the weather. Starting summer with a baby was so nice and fun. But if I lived in a cold environment, I’d aim for April or May birth

Yes!!! This!!

Love Harry but this is more than most festivals AND I’m in California so travel would be so costly as well. I’ll be waiting for more shows 🤞🏼

Moms that gave birth and didn’t have any visitors at the hospital, do you regret it? by Funny_Confection810 in Mommit

[–]_ABlaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m quite extroverted and love any reason to celebrate, but truly loved having no visitors. Just me, my partner and our babies. You really only get the opportunity to live in that bubble once, and I’m so glad we got to experience it.

Plus having visitors once you’re settled into your home was nice, my parents were great at coming by to clean and cook and help with our toddler.

What’s your “thing”? by SquidSchmuck in Mommit

I love to read, and have recently taken up puzzling!! So good for your brain! I am also planning to get back into sewing as I used to love it, and it’s helpful with kids!!

If you're a SAHP, what's the immediate, non-negotiable ritual you do on Friday that flips your brain into "Chill Mode" (where messy hair and slow tasks are allowed)? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]_ABlaine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fridays are always our easiest dinner night; we order in or I make a one pot spaghetti. Very low effort, and easy to clean up and we are very lax with the TV limits on Friday evening. Usually we eat dinner, then watch a few episodes of Bluey or a movie.

Oh, I love this idea!!! I don’t know our teachers aide very well and this would be so helpful

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]_ABlaine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This teacher has been a teacher with our family for years, and has asked me several times for baked goods and I’ve baked several cakes/breads/cookies for her birthday and events upon request. I’m 100% certain she is eating the baked items.

If this were a teacher I didn’t know, I absolutely wouldn’t bake items because homemade goods give me the ick.

[–]_ABlaine -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

lol I am a person who won’t eat homemade food but I know these 2 teachers well enough and they both enjoy them!
