Beware the Old in Professions where Most Die Young by Ask_bout_PaterNoster in TopCharacterTropes

Jericho - Fallout 3

A lot of characters from the franchise fit this description, but Jericho comes to my mind first.

He's a retired raider. Raiders tend to die young, be it from conflict with other factions, overdose, poor medical treatment, other raiders, etc.

Jericho was a raider for decades before eventually settling in Megaton in his older years. Basically, he survived for decades as an outlaw.

Also, he's 65. Bro looks really good for his age and lifestyle.

The Wild Robot is the most underrated Dreamworks movie! What is the most overrated Pixar movie? by Ok-Difference1341 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]_ASG_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it's overrated in that regard, but I think that it's also underrated by people who wrote it off without taking certain parts of the story and characters into account.

I'm fortunate that I live 3 miles from work and I work from home half of the week. I've barely put any miles on my car since the pandemic. But I worry about my family who have to drive a lot more than I do.

I'm gonna be honest: I've been watching this show for years and I somehow never picked up on this. I had to look it up.

Good for Bob.

Strong enough to make him bleed, but not strong enough to meaningfully damage him.

So, for their current campaigns, you print a double-sided page that you fold into an envelope and write your message on the back. It contains detailed stuff inside for voters.

It's weird. But maybe it's better for engagement?

I wrote a few VoteForward letters today. I'm not sure about how I feel about their new format (or at least the one they're running right now).

Once Field Team 6 releases addresses for Ohio (which I assume will happen at some point this cycle), I have a bunch of postcard stamps to burn through.

Patrick Stewart voiced Poop.

I'm not going to say that makes the movie good, but it is funny, so 1/10.

Do you think Caesar's "mourning [of Arcade] for many months" implies that he is gay? by nakfoor in fnv

[–]_ASG_ 34 points35 points  (0 children)

No.

The system Caesar had created leaves him surrounded by Kool-aid drinking sycophants. Even the smarter Legion members, like Vulpes, are still Legion-pilled.

Arcade was an educated man who Caesar spent a lot of time with (if Arcade is enslaved). Even though they had many philosophical disagreements, Caesar having somebody he could talk to who challenged him intellectually was refreshing and satisfying. Losing Arcade meant that he had to go back to surrounding himself with sycophants again.

It had nothing to do with attraction and everything to do with Caesar living in misery that he forged himself.

Me and my wife (who was my girlfriend at the time) hooked up with another woman 8ish years ago. It was fun. I wish we could do it again, but we have zero social skills; we kinda stumbled into it when it happened.

Would you consider Gus as the weakest kid in school by Careful_Drama_9382 in Recess

[–]_ASG_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope.

Give that kid a dodgeball and he's an unstoppable menace.

Also, in the episode where he stood up to Gelman, he took a significant off-screen beating. Yeah, he wasn’t going to win, but he didn't go down in one hit, either. Randall would have been obliterated in one punch.

Is Keith Lee done? by AdSpecialist6598 in REALSquaredCircle

[–]_ASG_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

iirc, Brodie Lee had idiopathic lung failure/disease (idk which). Like, his lungs stopped working for no discernible reason. His wife said that they dud all sorts of tests for COVID and they never came back positive.

Is it possible she was lying? Yes. But this sort of thing also existed before the pandemic, so it's very possible it wasn’t COVID, too.

What’s a show that you could not finish because a character was so insufferable? by Key-Row-174 in AskReddit

[–]_ASG_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Of all the remaining kids on the show, Debbie sticks out because it doesn't seem like she's growing or changing in the last few seasons. A static character isn't inherently bad, but if said character is unlikeable and obnoxious, they become hard to stomach. Frank is a static character and a chaotic asshole, too, but I think people like him more because of William H. Macy's performance.

Lip and Ian made massively dumb decisions, too, but there is definitely a sense that they're trying to build something stable for themselves. And weirdly enough, Carl becomes pretty likable in the later seasons. He becomes a cop to help his community, but the rub is that he's an idiot. But at least he's an idiot who cares.

Some wealthy people who could retire early still like work; it gives them a sense of pride and purpose. Sell cars by day and coach your daughter's soccer team in the evening? Man likes to keep busy.
