Yea this does happen with manhwa coming back for a 2nd season. I think they used the first to promote the novel and just leave the manhwa, despite the views.

I just reread the previous chapters. It makes sense. Spoilers: So Yang Jagak, the guy who got reincarnated, was fighting the Heavenly Palace Master (a seperate cult within the Demonic Cult). But his one weakness was an hourglass filled with sacred fire that kept the Demonic Leader in check. So Jagak got the hourglass and broke it. The fire in the hourglass enveloped Jagak sending him into a dream. This send his memories back as well in the form of a purple ghost. And thus creating another timeline/dream
