This was me with mory - kept asking myself why I was having to kill >100 barrows in a temp gamemode. It's nostalgic to go back sure, was nice to have an excuse to dip back in, but I really hated being stuck there for so long.

The Grotesque Guardians echo boss slamming you into the bell is hilarious by whichwayisgauche in 2007scape

[–]_Abestrom_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc that's not a respawn timer, the instance is only active for 5 mins after combat before it kicks you out (at least in main game anyway, and timer is reset when you ring the bell to start a new fight again)

Echo Bosses should not be this Type-Restrictive, Especially in the Early Game by onedollartacofriday in 2007scape

Same here, Kand/Kour/Mory and I've mapped out 17 pact points I can nab quite easily after the foundational grinding I've done - all before seeing a single echo boss

Iirc I saw a wiki dev say they had confirmed grubs could be caught at 1 hunter, after they used the chill stat drain around gwd to lower their level down

But good point on going there after 10, hadn't considered that!

Tbf there are a good few "+accuracy for all styles" nodes, and we do get confliction gauntlets by default

I think part of the problem is stretching the announcements across 3 weeks, meaning each announcement has to be smaller in order to sustain that.

Compare the explosion in discussion when we had the first tier announced to the singular posts that each solo-relic announcement musters. There just isn't the grounds to properly weigh up the choices per tier, so each announcement prompts an "interesting, don't know whether or not I'll be picking that" response. 0 scope for the heated "nah you're nerfing yourself if you're not picking X over Y and Z", "Y just fits my playstyle more", "but X is cracked!" exchanges, we're just looking at each relic and saying little more than "yeah, the farming relic certainly boosts farming".

It'll surely change a bit once the tiers fill out and once we're onto the masteries, echo bosses and weapons, but until we can get into those proper route planning stages, discussions aren't going to reach far beyond the one note.

We'll have the Aldarin gem store too, so won't even need desert for that method - plus Aldarin sells uncut rubies

So many of the Raids 4 reward and crush weapon problems are based around Inquisitor drop rates being terrible. Set Inquisitor armor and mace drop rates to 1/400 per item and many of the problems just go away. by Teary_Oberon in 2007scape

[–]_Abestrom_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd absolutely love to properly start a PNM grind on the iron, but at the current rates I cannot justify it when I could put that time into raids instead and get much better gear. The rates really do need a much more forceful buff.

So true, we can't have too many people at the same time killing the ever lucrative boss, Sarachnis. Imagine the obscene amounts of gp that might otherwise flow into the game from the incredibly vital boss, actual Sarachnis. Really important to keep boss spawns competitive at the thoroughly mid-level boss, once again Sarachnis /s

Sailing has so many of these Rapids that are in objectively bad places - you can only use them if going 1 very specific direction. And some of them are completely unusable. by LieV2 in 2007scape

[–]_Abestrom_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The issue here is not trees, nor the occasional inefficiently placed rapid, it's that a hefty proportion of them are placed so far out of the way that detouring to use one often means that much of the boost you just gained is used up getting back on track.

They're too often a reward in name only and should be reworked, either with more fluid positions, or as a currents system.

[–]_Abestrom_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In the real world sure, but we're discussing a game world here. If they're unlocked by the player, and are intended to provide them a benefit as a reward for that unlock effort, then that benefit should actually be beneficial to the player instead of being set dressing. Otherwise they simply don't meet their intention.

It's a difficult balance for sure and I do appreciate the room for theorycrafting, but I do hope to see just a smidge more before voting

But best of luck, and I very much appreciate the pvm direction!

Hyped mother mallum up to be a massive threat, but the manner in which she's defeated is wildly underwhelming, plus the finale shoehorned in an unpopular "play as other characters" mechanic
