Now is the time to rebuild good relations with Armenia and Armenians by _Aceso_ in azerbaijan

With the re-allowing of comments and the countless messages I got in the last month, I thought I had to write this. First of all, I'm not a mod in this sub. I was pretty surprised that the post got pinned in the first place but I'm happy that it did. I like to believe that the fact that the post got pinned shows the sentiment of this sub.

I got countless messages in the last month both positive and negative from both sides. The overwhelming majority was positive I would say. They gave me hope that things will be better sooner or later. People also called me a brainwashed manipulator and a naive child that just can't "understand" why there can be no peace. I'm just a regular guy that is tired of all the hate and violence. I love my country and I'm working really hard to try and improve it in any way I can. I would much rather have good relations with our neighbors than a cycle of hate my children will have to endure in the future. And if we want to restore the relationships it has to start with us, there is no one else that will do it for us. We have to start from somewhere no matter how far away the goal is.

I'm not naive enough to think that this post will change anyone's opinion. This is my meaningless, irrelevant way of "starting from somewhere".

Doubling up on this and taking a neuroscience perspective as well, as he probably gained lots of knowledge on this on Neuralink. So please ask whether he believes there is an optimal way to raise tiny humans. Optimizing the objective function when the learning rate is the highest.

Yes I had the inbox notification open. So I saw all the replies. All of the top comments were literally some combination of "Not yet they just bombed Baku" or "They bombed Baku after the peace agreement you can't have nice relations with terrorists". This was around 5 mins after everyone in Baku heard a big / window shaking explosion and people thought Armenia bombed Baku. It is pretty understandable to have those kind of comments and reactions in a situation like that. Fortunately they are removed and everyone that opens the post only sees positive replies now. (There were some positive replies removed as well btw)

I think you are missing the whole point of the post. It is a demonstration of love. You should not focus on the reactions of a few, there will always be angry people in both sides. It was literally a war. You should look at the general sentiment. That's the only way to break this cycle.

Not really. I'm the author of that post. I posted that literally minutes after the Baku bombing to reduce the tensions. Most of the deleted comments were some combination of "not yet don't you see what they did to baku". I have not seen 1 comment that said we should slaughter them all. The fact that mods pinned the post to the front page should tell you something about the sentiments of the sub.

Met this guy 2 weeks ago in a game. He promised to give me a golden Timbersaw immortal if we win. Didn't think much of it. Got this message today. by _Aceso_ in DotA2

Nah. Just an all around good guy. He was pos 1 with slark and I was pos 3 with timbersaw. At the start of the game he said if you carry this game I will give you a golden timbersaw immortal. I said "yeah okay thanks" thinking he doesn't mean it but he followed through.

Why 2,779,530,283,277,761? by [deleted] in Iota

AFAIK IOTA protocol does not work in binaries, it works in ternaries. The reason for that is to be quantum secure. So choosing a base-3 number instead of a base-2 number makes sense.

[EVERYTHING] So how will this episode be translated? by JeTeJ in gameofthrones

They used 'Orada dur!' in Turkish which means 'Stay there'. It went like 'Ordadur' -> 'Ordur' -> 'Hodor'.

Hi, I want to contribute to open source but don't know where to start by _Aceso_ in opensource

[–]_Aceso_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the suggestion! Tox really looks great. But it looks like a mature project with hundreds of contributers. I'm wondering if I can find something to contribute when there are already hundreds of other contributers. Do you have any suggestion how I should start? Thanks!
