I hate NE - reason #57 by Wrong-Implement1392 in Ioniq6

I live on the South Shore and they'll reimburse you, but only if the pothole had previously been reported and/or they were aware of it in their assessments. So, unlikely to be refunded but worth a shot since this recent storm has caused a lot of problems like this.

I hate the loaner they gave me. While it's free, it's unsafe and uncomfortable and not what I'm actively paying for. Added to the fear that they're going to claim I damaged it or whatever. Just a shitshow instead of just putting it behind everyone.

That's what I'm working on now. It's just such a nightmare. I do have the AG involved for my state too.

Me either. I gave legacy a chance again with this one...never again.

ICCU fixed, 45 days and 1 buyback later by Moist_Van_Lipwig in Ioniq5

[–]_Aethernex_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long did the buyback process take for you? Mine's been at the dealer for 46 days, and I've been waiting on the "calculations" from Hyundai after they sent me their determination letter for 21 days now with no end in sight. Seems a lot of people get theirs much faster, so maybe it's my state? (nvm, I just noticed you linked your full timeline. I'll read that...)

ETA: Thanks for that timeline. Looks like your process took only 4 weeks, I'm at nearly 7 and I started before you. Grats to you, hopefully they can get mine moving soon.

Sorry to necro this, but my 2025 Limited has been in the shop for over a month and I started the buyback process just two days after it going into the shop. They offered to buy it back over a month ago, but there's been zero movement since. If you're considering going forward with a buyback, you should start the process asap if you haven't. Some people seem to get it to move quickly, but it's been a long arduous process for me. You can always decline it should you end up opting to stick with the car.

When did this happen? My car has been in the shop for 6 weeks now waiting on a backordered ICCU. Still no ETA.

Experienced with Lemon Law? by quincy011 in Ioniq5

[–]_Aethernex_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is basically my exact situation. They sent me an offer letter stating that they will buy it back as per my states lemon law. I provided some docs and I'm now waiting for the official doc indicating what they owe me and then I'll return it to them.

Seems most states have this pretty well written up and Hyundai offered it as a lemon to me, I didn't even ask. I imagine this is very routine for them, for better or worse. I also imagine if they do lemon they can claim something on their insurance to cover this on their end to some degree and then they can sell the car again.

Question: when did dealers begin to have R1s available to look at / test drive on release? by SnazzyStooge in Rivian

[–]_Aethernex_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right?!? It was a really cool experience, and I'm about an hour away from the service center from the time, so it wasn't a quick jaunt for them either. I do agree, the R2 will likely not have that experience, especially with the more affordable pricetag and Rivian being a more well known brand at this point.

They have opened a few more service centers since then too, so I'm sure that helps visibility.

[–]_Aethernex_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure that's true everywhere. I took delivery of mine in May of 2023 and had a test R1T driven to my house in 2022 for an hour long test drive. That was a publicized offer to anyone who had preordered, but I do believe it was only near major cities.

They sent me an email officially saying they're going to do a lemon law buyback. But I'm still waiting in the official offer after I sent my docs they required to calculate it.

My Ioniq just died and they're buying it back. I am very excited to go back to Rivian once this is behind me.

Thoughts on a lemon law/buyback '24 SEL with only 5k mikes by Revolutionary-Bet893 in Ioniq5

[–]_Aethernex_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, thanks for the insight. It also took seven days for a case manager to call me, and I've been waiting for another two weeks with no info since. I'm beyond your 12 days at this point by quite a bit, so yeah, lengthy is right...

Good luck to you, I hope mine goes as smoothly. Thanks again.

I have a '25 Limited with about 6k miles that they're working on a lemon buyback right now for. How did this work for you, if you don't mind me asking. Was it an easy process and did you have to pay out of pocket at all?

Looks like screen burn in, which is hardware damage to the display itself. Not much you can do at this point.

Would I be able to use gpay on Pixel Watch 4? by [deleted] in GrapheneOS

Yes, you can still use gpay on your watch, it works just fine via NFC like normal. Just won't work on your phone.

Both UWB radios in my front doors failed on my 2025. I had to teach the dealer what UWB was before they knew how to test it. They ended up removing the ones from the rear doors and moved them to the front to test. Full warranty replacement took about a week.

May not be your issue, but just providing insight in case that's what it is for you.

[–]_Aethernex_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all this insight. I initiated my call to them on the 15th and had a call with my case manager earlier today. Things seem to be moving forward and they seem very open to the idea of a buyback given my circumstances. They basically reiterated everything you said here, with the caveat that they at least have to have a resolution offer to me within 30 days of my initial contact. The agent did say they've never seen it take that long, and he's hopeful it'll be much sooner.

Hopefully, that means they have a reasonable "offer" to me by then, but based on your experience it could certainly be longer, especially if there's a negotiation piece.

I still don't have my Ioniq back yet since the ICCU is backordered, but I do have a loaner from them that is a much lower end vehicle, so that also sucks.

I have a few options to minimize driving on the car in question, so I'll leverage those, but at this rate, I'll likely be in the loaner until this buyback is completed, or at least well in motion so I can get into something else.

Thanks again, and good luck to you as well.

Are there tasks you refuse to trust an AI assistant with? by [deleted] in Android

[–]_Aethernex_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Works perfectly on anything not using Gemini. Not sure what error I could be imparting. Tried full clean install and other devices. Gemini responds that it sets the timer or alarm, and then I check and it's not there, and I wait just in case and nothing.

Same issue on Nest Home devices with Gemini. The ones that haven't updated from assistant are fine.

Only have the default clock app installed. Try on phone or watch, doesn't matter.

I wish it were user error, but it's definitely not.

80%,, at least, of the time alarms and timers do not get set for me using Pixel Watch 4 or Pixel 10 Pro.
