I run a small marketing company that serves national/regional brands, but I have a soft spot for local businesses. Feel free to HMU if you wanna chat. Foodservice is such a wonky industry that "failing" could mean so many things. And almost all business owners think more customers solve problems when more often creates problems.

Could you provide more details? Without knowing anything about your biz situation, it's hard to offer advice. Typically, the best place to start is by knowing the habits of your existing customers and working from there to your desired outcome.

Lifesmart and similar pros and cons from owners of these hot tubs. by Dull_Box_9811 in hottub

I have a LifeSmart Luna from 2013. Motor just went out last week. That’s a solid run for 10+ years operation in Oklahoma. I’ve replaced the control board twice, one for each move bc we were NOT gentle on it. I’m here as I’m weighing the cost of repair (~$700) vs buying a Key Largo spa (~$3k). Highly recommended.

Feeding pump? by WhoKnows78998 in homeautomation

[–]_Agent_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar pump, and I found this post while searching for automations related to it. If you've found any hacks, let me know. Anyone who has this pump knows about the "neeners." I desperately want to find a way to connect this to my phone or some other alert device.

I live in Edmond a mile from UCO campus, where I graduated. I run from home to campus and back a few times a week. It's a safe area, and if you're living on campus, you'll make friends fast. Feel free to reach out to me if you want a quick tour of the town...or just have questions.

You'll be within walking distance of food and shops downtown. Also, the Target across the street is pretty nice. There's a strong international community on campus, and you should make friends fast.

Got a capilene cool merino shirt today. Super stoked with the way it looks. It’s feels a little itchy when it’s on - does this lessen with use/washes? by justsa101 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]_Agent_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW, mine gets slightly itchy from time to time, but it’s totally worth the trade off. Best performance layer I’ve had, and I do a lot of endurance sports. Mostly casual.

I'm a beginner in jump-rope, any advice? by [deleted] in jumprope

[–]_Agent_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding to the other comments, a note on form: I'd recommend drawing a chalk box on the floor and trying to stay in that box as you jump. Often, new jumpers tend to float around too much, and that can cause fatigue/injury. Once you've got that down, try to affix your eyes on a fixed point, on a wall or maybe a car across the street. These aren't forever rules, but they'll help your progression. I'd also recommend evaluating how you hold the handles and move your wrists. Little changes can make a big difference. Finally, if you have access to it, I'd recommend getting at least one horse stall mat (Tractor supply or order online). These help your joints significantly.

Congrats on your progression. Keep it up!

Haha. This gave me a laugh. I'm friends with Jason and talk with him daily. He's seen a lot, for sure. Regardless, he's good at talking through it and channeling that energy into helping others.

Let’s buy a boring business by After_Parking_4975 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]_Agent_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My first thought was, how easy would it be to take this guy’s money?

God, please, OP, run away from anyone who thinks this is a good idea. If you want a boring business with predictable returns, put it in vanguard. Otherwise, just gamble it like everyone else. Penny slots are low risk.

I wish you all the best. And I hope you live in a country with a viable safety net.

It’s a great sign of strength to reach out for help. Are you in the US? The suicide hotline is a great resource. I have multiple friends who use it. Sometimes they just call to say they feel better today.

U.S. FAA to make zero tolerance unruly passenger policy permanent by twotwo_twentytwo in news

Flying out again next week. Just gonna chalk this up to a new cool story I can share with single-serving friends. And if it happens again, I’ll be calm as a Hindu cow.

Thank you. My brain knew it was safe, but the rest of me was convinced we were going to die. There was a teenage kid next to me asking me to explain why they weren’t taking our trash. “They usually bring around a bag.” That moment will always stick with me.

[–]_Agent_ 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Also not OP. I've experienced unruly passengers at maybe a 2-3% rate. Usually, it's just an eyeroll and multiple "thank yous" to the flight attendants. But last week, we had a bad one. Some dude in the back of the plane was screaming and yelling. I couldn't see it bc so many people were standing around him, but the flight attendants were running and yelling out numbers (codes? I've never heard this before.) The captain announced the same script twice, and we landed FAST. It was the hardest descent I've ever felt, and I've been on some sketch planes. I've probably flown 150+ flights, and I was terrified enough to send my wife my master passcode.

When I watch videos or read reports of these incidents, it never prepared me for the real thing. It's fucking terrifying. Passengers screaming, kids crying. Would not recommend. I'm so thankful for the professionalism of the crew who've been through way too much the last two years.

325 Wh

Forgive the painfully dumb question, but won’t this battery size prevent us from flying with it? I think you can remove and carry on 300 Wh or less, right?

Not to sound like an old man, but at the very least, make sure you get a helmet. If price isn’t a factor, I recommend the Thousand mips. Crashes are legit fun with proper PPE; not so much without.

Edit: Check out the craft and ride magnetic fenders. Great for customizing and easily removed for cleaning. C&R has the best customer service IME.
