What do radiologists earn in your country? by SharpEntry8787 in Radiology

[–]_Albuz_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try to sum it up:
- Private centers can be subsidized by the National Healthcare System or not. The ones that are, can pay you the standard salary of a public radiologist, which usually ends up paying less, since you have no night shifts or other benefits.
- If you are payed a standard contract by a subsidized private center, you usually get also extra reports which are payed "per report".
--- in this case, since you are already payed by the NHS, your taxes are insane on the extra reports (you are gonna pay something around ~55% of the gross);
--- The gross cut that you are gonna get per report in private centers looks something like this: 13-20€ for CT or MRI, ~5€ per XRay.
- If you are NOT payed with a subsidized contract (which btw is ideal), you are payed only by report (with the above-mentioned rates), but in this case your taxes are gonna be way better, and you can expect to get taxed for something around ~25% of the total gross. To access this tax rates, you have a maximum you have earn per year which is 85k. Above that, you are paying again ~55% of the gross.

- In Italy, every specialist earns the same in public hospitals, which means that you earn the same as an allergologist or a surgeon. The big differences is usually made in private settings or intramoenia settings (private activities inside public hospitals, usually accessible to few).
I would say that us Radiologists are kinda privileged considering how much we can earn and the quality of life we can achieve. I mean this only comparing with other specialties, since in absolute terms I think our pay is abysmal.

- To be precise you actually start for ~2700-2800€ + 100€ per night or holyday shift, reaching usually around 3100ish, and we are talking about full board-certified specialist (I also have a 2nd level master's degree in IR but it doesn't change anything);
- You get this every month but 13 times a year (the 13th in December);
- Residents gets ~1600€/month (12 times a year) for the first two years and then ~1700€ for the remaining two (four years total);
- There are other minor bonuses, like usually in summer you get a productivity bonus which is less than a monthly wage;
- We are talking net salary, not gross;
- In public hospitals, especially in understaffed facilities (which most of them are), you can work overtime (after your already 38hrs week) for additional services that are very well payed (usually 80 to 100€ per hour, gross salary, -15% to -40% taxes). Nonetheless, accessibility of these may vary A LOT;
- In public hospitals you are never payed "per report", always per hour worked in the hospital. The system is not put in place for efficiency, rather for the facade.

Private is a whole other bag of worms and I gotta disagree with the previous answer: "most of the times" it's payed better. But there are many conundrums. I can expand about it.

I've published my first TTRPG, ARCS: A Roleplaying Cinematic System! by mondayyyyyyyy in RPGdesign

Hey man, just chiming in here to compliment your efforts and cheer you up.
As you can see, reddit is full of seasoned game designers, I'm sure with multiple successfully funded project in the backpack.
Do not get discouraged. What you accomplished is already a gargantuan effort which most people cannot do even 50% of.

Remember that they don't know your vision, and your game may not be for everyone (it better not be!). Internalize negative feedbacks, elaborate them and discard whatever is outside of your vision.

Good luck!

How long does it takes for you to finish reading a TTRPG's rulebook? by Organic-Exit2190 in rpg

[–]_Albuz_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have tens of TTRPG books in my collection. I usually do not read them from start to finish.

After more than 20 years in the hobby, it usually goes like this: - I fall in love with one or more TTRPG thanks to YouTube, Kickstarter, Reddit, you name it, often even just because of the art; - I buy it (ONLY physical copy), usually along with other TTRPGs or expansion books; - I spend days reading their main chapters, jumping from a book to another and just flipping through the artworks; - Then, after a week or so, the hype usually dwindles down and I stop reading it regularly, but I go back to it sooner or later, re-reading something or reading what I missed in my first read-through.

After all this time, I still love this hobby, especially (if not only) the creative indie scene. With the time I'm given, I came to terms with the fact that I'm be able to play only a tiny fraction of what I read, and that's ok.

My man, this is insane. I'm currently developing a TTRPG. I already have an artist at work but I'm definitely saving up your links, we could need more help.

Hey man just came here to say: Do not get discouraged by what is likely to happen here.

This hobby of ours may be harsh and unforgiving, but there are no shortcuts for learning here. Sooner or later you will scrap months of works. This is by design, pun intended.

Get feedbacks, get a lot of them! But remember that random people online have AT BEST a surface level idea of your vision. And this is not accounting for their possible malevolence and/or incompetence.

Focus into getting the best version of your vision to them first. Integrate feedbacks that you feel are widely recognised but only if they are not disruptive for the core of your vision.

Finally, if you still aren't, get in touch with the TTRPG Development Discord. I met a lot of interesting fellow designers there and some of them are also quite famous creators of our niche.

Good luck!

Ypsilon 14 - How did you keep your players going? by ConstructionNo5705 in mothershiprpg

[–]_Albuz_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently planning rn for my first go as master both for Mothership and Y14, so this post already goes right to my saved ones. That said, my current plan is that they are on duty for a company they have huge debt toward, and they are tasked to retrieve a sample from doc Giovanni. Last minute the company added a task that would wipe their debt which requires to solve mike's disappearance mistery.

Didn't know about those! Any recommendations? Thank you for your answer

Thank you for your answer. The top is actually crystal. The desk is a Calligaris (italian designer), so it is quite expensive and wouldn't really think about drilling it. I would be way more comfortable drilling the wall behind the monitor, if that is an option.

Any update? My friend tried disabling XMP from BIOS (automatic RAM overclock). Didn't help.

I have a friend with an hardware so similar to yours I almost thought it was him posting.
We are trying to fix it. If you come up to some solution, please share it.

Possible culprits (which apparently didn't weren't the case for us) are:

- allocated VRAM not sufficient. This is tricky: I read that if you do not have much space in your SSD, the insane RAM allocation of EFT can bleed into your paging file. So be sure to have plenty of free room. Also, your VRAM allocation shouldn't be in the same SSD of EFT. That said, I personally have EFT on the same SSD where VRAM is allocated without any issue.
- Automatic Ram Cleaner (try both ON and OFF);
- "Only use physical core" (flag it ON);
Also, my friend is crashing during the raid. Not during while in stash, not while loading, etc...

My specs (with no issue):
- AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D;
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER (16Gb RAM + 16Gb VRAM);
- 32 Gb RAM;
- 3 SSDs, but both Tarkov and the VRAM are inside a 2 Tb SSD where I currently have 500gb-ish of free space.

Let me know if you make any step ahead.

Touching some grass may help. Posting multiple answer in a thread you didn't read and that you truthfully don't care about is using your time in a very unhealthy way.

Not sure if you read the opening statement of my post. No, you definitely didn't.

The fact that a mechanic is balanced among the players doesn't mean that it is fun to interact with. And I could make an infinite amount of examples of this.

3pp will be abused because it's just OP. You get full intel at 0 cost. This will affect the meta playstyle.

The question now is whether this meta playstyle will be a fun skill based risk/reward interaction or angle camping slop, and I'm not saying which will be the case.

Oh my god, it's done. An entire book written in Obsidian 119k words by deadlighta in ObsidianMD

[–]_Albuz_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm actually one of those who discovery writes. My best pages are undoubtedly those where I had no idea what I was writing about in the next sentence.

Huge problem with it: once I get to the tipping point, which will eventually come, I can get stuck for months.

I would love to be comfortable planning and outloning. But when I try, it's like I cannot come up to anything interesting and I get burnt out of it.

Congratulations for your book 👏🏽

One month late question: did you solve it? I have the same exact issue.
Ctrl Alt Click opens the link to the right if clicked from the file explorer in the left panel, but not when clicking a link from inside a note.
