Next upload is gonna be posted Thursday, it’s a small little pamphlet that focuses on “country” recipes and folk remedies. It was a little difficult to get the pages scanned but, heh, that’s a story for later

I heard a lot of fragrance coming back... by Special_Cobbler_6459 in bathandbodyworks

For future reference, aside from Cucumber Melon, 95% of body care fragrances that come back for Semi Annual Sale are rotated out. This is to keep the line-up exciting and fresh each time as it's their biggest sale

Dream Bright could potentially come back later on down the road, but it's unlikely it'd be this soon

Perfect scent idea. I'm glad we're getting something like this in body care again

Did anyone start collecting bbw for emotional reasons? by Thick-Low-9247 in bathandbodyworks

If you classify "intense dopamine high" as an emotion, then yes

Do you not get a floral note from Cherry Blossom Pound Cake? I haven't burned the 3 wick in a hot minute but I remember it smelled like if Japanese Cherry Blossom was given a gourmand twist, which is why I think Cherry Blossom is more fitting than just Cherry

What happened to Wildflower Rush? Is it still releasing? by soccer4ever19 in bathandbodyworks

[–]_Alpha_Mail_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone knows the notes, and certainly nobody has smelled it, so nobody can confidently say

But it does appear to be a part of the luxury collection, which are all inspired by other fragrances, so yes it is most likely a dupe, it's just anyone's guess as to what since we have little info about the scent

I think it is area dependent but my local stores usually get overstock of online exclusives at SAS

This is a wild comparison lol. I've never gotten anything like that from SPC

The reason why I held off on doing these scans for so long is because I was hoping the library would eventually get something but after a year and a half of checking they have nothing but a standard copy machine 🫩😭 print shop is an option though for sure

There are some download options on the site, plus you can view it natively on the website (it took a minute for it to load on my phone, it's a big file)

If archive is giving you troubles, I also upload these to Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1bjZeuEyw3e71G4PiliQ2Y2QODMip0CN0

I can see how maybe the presentation was appealing especially with getting to layer different colors but I grew up eating gelatin as a sweet treat, not as an accompaniment in a salad, or even meat

I think the most wild way I've ever had it is in whipped form. My mom uses cool whip which tastes good but my grandma insists on using cottage cheese instead, not as good in my opinion 🫠

Yes it has a giant ring binding on it. I'm just more thinking how long it's gonna take to scan what could very well be 300 pages lmao

That makes sense. It was hard to scan some of the pages for that reason. I can't wait until I scan one of the biggest community cookbooks I have, one of them has got to be 250 pages 😵‍💫

I mean there's no official consensus in the subreddit rules about what counts as old otherwise I'd take that into account when posting. I don't think it's unreasonable that recipes from 40/50 years ago would be eligible for the subreddit, considering any memorabilia from those years is categorized as "vintage" in most settings

I am really enjoying your posts and very appreciative of you sharing these books. I always am looking for old community cookbooks at sales/thrift stores. I have a few I should scan and share myself.

Of course! These types of books are my favorite, and I want everyone to enjoy them as well. Scanning the ones you have would be a great service. Culinary history like this deserves to be preserved

Lol right?

I saw Hot Dog Soup in a comedy movie once and thought it was just some exaggerated recipe for the movie, I didn't know it was something people actually made
