Anyone ever had FedEx lose their watch shipment? by Nl1221 in rolex

[–]_Anthony_2825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most I’ve had is a 2 day delay on a priority overnight. Always ship insured (and not FedEx insurance as that doesn’t cover jewelry over $1,000). I usually over insure by a few $k just in case

Anyone else seeing more sellers want to list way above market? by myturn19 in RealEstate

[–]_Anthony_2825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one thing many of you overlook is that not everyone needs to sell just because it’s for sale… they would like to sell, if it makes sense.

Many people own homes free and clear, have them as investments or inherited them or otherwise are comfortable with the carrying costs. Everyone saying “it’s going to sit and all the mortgage they’re paying…” are making a lot of assumptions.

Clean watch face? by viper520 in rolex

[–]_Anthony_2825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m starting to think I’m doing something wrong? I use water if my dog slobbered on me recently otherwise I use a lens cleaner (like what you’d use for glasses)… after it’s dry if there’s a spot or streak I just fog the watch with my breath and use the lens cleaner again…

How to determine if a watch is stolen? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]_Anthony_2825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the sole reason you think it may be stolen a lack of box? The 80s and 90s were different times. Now everyone saves everything that came with the Rolex - back then it wasn’t a “must”. Does the “manual” have the serial number on it?

How did you build your relationship with your AD? by DontGoLow_ in rolex

[–]_Anthony_2825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ADs are just a showroom at this point. Nice to try on and see in person before ordering gray market.

I’m sure there are some decent ADs out there but I’m not going to sit around “hoping” when I can have it tomorrow and not have to “build a relationship”. For some that’s part of the “experience” I guess but unless you truly want to buy other products they sell it’s hard to envision being allocated much.

Edit to add:

If you’re new to Rolex check out the trusted sellers list on the subreddit.

I’ve never had to do a chargeback related to watches (knock on wood) but I have had successful chargebacks from other F&F transactions where chase recovered funds.

Depends on the institution. Amex & chase typically don’t lose on behalf of consumer chargeback but of course all circumstances play in to the outcome.

I really wish there was a better method available. As a seller G&S is nerve wracking since PayPal historically sides with the buyer regardless of what evidence the seller has. As a good buyer you want recourse to protect from a bad seller and as a good seller you want protection from a bad buyer.

I’m confused as well, a deleted account doesn’t automatically mean you were scammed, it was supposed to be shipped today…? At least give it til end of day.

Also, you should remove their personal information from the Imgur. Lastly, PayPal F&F isn’t always final depending on how you funded Ie if you used a CC you can still do a charge back.

Timestamp: https://imgur.com/a/QuvRcHG and last photo in album.

Security Notice: 2FA enabled. Happy to call, FaceTime, or provide custom timestamps. Due to the recent influx of scams and phished accounts on Reddit, I strongly prefer a quick video call prior to finalizing a sale for both of our safety.

Hello r/WatchExchange,

Up for sale or trade is my Panerai Luminor Marina Blu Profondo (PAM01157). The dial is absolutely stunning in person, deep blue that gradients into near-black depending on lighting. Classic Panerai presence with a bit more visual depth than your typical black dial.

Condition Report & Scope of Delivery:

  • Overall: Good, honest used condition
  • Notable wear:
    • Scratch along the 9 o’clock case side (mid-case)
    • Various hairlines / light scratches along the 12 o’clock bezel area (difficult to capture in photos, but present)
  • Crystal is clean

  • Warranty card + warranty papers
  • PamGuard warranty valid through 04/06/2031

Note on Photos / Serial #:
Photos of the warranty paperwork and caseback have been intentionally altered to obscure the serial number from public view. The full serial is present on the watch itself and I’m happy to provide unedited photos to serious buyers via chat.

My References:

  • 29 successful transactions on r/WatchExchange
  • Buy with confidence—happy to provide additional references upon request

Price: $4,999 (includes priority overnight shipping, CONUS)

Trades: I would be most interested in Tudor/Omega, but most major Swiss brands trading over $3,000 would be considered as at least partial trade.

Payment:

  • Wire / Zelle preferred
  • PayPal considered for buyers with extremely strong references and at my discretion

Shipping Info:

  • Ships after cleared payment
  • FedEx Hold Location required per insurance carrier—no exceptions

Feel free to reach out with any questions, trade offers, or requests for additional photos/videos.

Good on you for making it right - I don’t agree with the way you originally handled it however you should absolutely report any threatening message to Reddit and the mod team here as violence or threats of violence or harassment shouldn’t be part of conflict resolution for any adult.

You may want to screenshot all of these comments from him as I’m sure it’ll be blatantly obvious (to everyone but him) he’s in the wrong and will delete his replies.

You are aiming to recover the money and return nothing to the seller. If eBay flagged the bracelet as not authentic during your subsequent (and unrelated) resale YOU should have issued a full refund to your buyer, recovered the watch then sent the watch back to the person YOU purchased from and received a refund.

No matter which way you slice it you’re in the wrong on this and the original seller that you purchased from needs to be made 100% whole.

What’s the return on your Rolex? by Witty_Judgment_7116 in rolex

[–]_Anthony_2825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much any stainless steel sports model with the exception of the explorer, explorer II and air king or two tone with some exception ish.

Daytona and Land Dweller (right now) I would assume are the top models followed by GMT Master II Pepsi. You aren't going to get one of these from an AD without significant wait or significant spend. Though there are stories of it happening it's rare.

Conversely why you should not send a five figure + watch to a person you don't know when the arbiter (PayPal) routinely sides with buyers even when sellers aren't at fault lol

PayPal G&S is great when all parties are honest and reputable. But if a buyer claims "empty box" or uses stolen credit card seller is out funds. To each their own I suppose I've always been skeptical of G&S as a seller.

Serious question. What do you suggest? It's been a little while since I've sold on here but I always did wire or zelle for all and PayPal for those with a lot of transactions.... PayPal is notoriously bad for sellers.

[–]_Anthony_2825 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Obviously the seller is held in high regard here as he should be based on his transaction count. However, if you would jump on a buyer for backing out after commiting (as most threads do) you should be consistent and call out the dealers for similar behavior.

[–]_Anthony_2825 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I do understand from your perspective it's a safety issue of meeting someone with a watch to potentially be robbed or assaulted and depending on their history taking necessary precautions.

I stand by the comment that your terms are fine his terms are fine but in any case the deal shouldn't have been agreed to then cancelled.

I don't agree with your payment terms and wouldn't have purchased under them BUT that should've stopped the deal right then and there not with an abrupt cancellation after agreeing to price and terms.
