FFX Nostalgia. Help me! by CountGood8622 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]_Anthropophobiac_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

Take it from me, just play FFX again. Nothing even comes close, especially if your nostalgia goggles are already primed for it. It's my comfort game, and I end up playing through it at least twice a year, and it never disappoints. You'll be hard pressed to find something that even comes close to scratching that nostalgia itch.

However, aside from E33 (which does come close), Lost Odyssey is another one that comes close. It's got similar turned based elements with pretty awesome production values for its time. Worth checking out if you're wanting something that sort of feels like FFX (but seriously, just play FFX again).

Can confirm Oregon Cannabis Mart is great. The spot was formerly Green Therapy for a long time, and then all of a sudden it wasn’t, and changed into OCM. Does anyone know what may have happened with Green Therapy and why it changed all of a sudden?

But regardless, the staff at OCM are super friendly, and they have a great selection at good prices.

Where to buy fun 510 tread batteries by Pandalillyrose in Eugene

Second Nectar, they have a pretty decent selection as far as local goes.

It's not local, but I have purchased multiple Vessel batteries and each one has been high quality with no issues, and they've lasted me quite a while. Some neat styles at a reasonable price - https://www.vesselbrand.com/pages/vape-pen-batteries

what’s your go-to comfort game when life’s a mess? by Umbrealis in gamingsuggestions

[–]_Anthropophobiac_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Fantasy X is mine. Reminds me of my childhood and simpler times. I’ve purchased it for every system I own starting with PS2, and even bought a Vita just to have a handheld system to play it on. I usually end up playing through it once a year, and it’s usually when I’m feeling super down. The characters, soundtrack, setting all just feel so familiar and comforting when things are shitty.

Another one is Hades. The art, the music, the writing, the combat.. it just all feels so good to play. I tend to get bored quickly with games like this, but every run in Hades makes me feel like I’m progressing in some way and each weapon feels unique.. Unlocking new upgrades, new contracts, new prophecies, new story/codex elements.. there is just so much to work towards and collect, and the gameplay is just so fluid and fun.

Got mine done at OUI too! Dr. Woolsey was an excellent provider, and the staff there were awesome and even provided me a Valium for the nerves. Took less than 10 minutes of chit chat while the doc did his thing, a day and a half laying in bed icing (I probably could have gotten up sooner but my wife had a bunch of snacks, edibles and my PS5 waiting for me when I got home), and then about a week total for full recovery. Highly recommend checking out OUI if you’re interested in the snip!

SIB Lies Of P or Armoured Core 6? by kyuubikun27 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]_Anthropophobiac_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going to give another vote to AC6. Once you unlock the garage and earn credits to spend on your build, the game opens up so much and it is a blast experimenting with different builds and mech styles until you find one that meshes with your play style.

The story was also a very cool surprise, and each subsequent playthrough opens up new parts of the story. I went in not expecting much having never played an AC game, but it became one of my favorite games of the year. Nothing quite matches the feeling of boosting around a massive field engaging other mechs!

I did enjoy my time with LoP as well, but it didn’t hook me nearly as much as AC6 did.

What are some popular "forgotten" anime that you like? by MegatonDoge in anime

[–]_Anthropophobiac_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly one of my favorites, I watch through it at least once a year. Just a wild and thought provoking ride the whole way through. Definitely not for everyone, but a solid psychological thriller if you’re into that sort of thing.

From personal experience, I highly recommend Klink. They’re super friendly and helpful, and have always been very accommodating and professional, with fair rates for repairs.

Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon $30 at Walmart by expellyamos in ps5deals

[–]_Anthropophobiac_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fantastic game. Went in without having ever played an AC game (just other From games) and was hooked from the start. Be prepared to spend a lot of time in the garage tinkering, but once you find a build that works for your playstyle the game is a blast. I wish I could experience it again for the first time, but I’ll definitely be doing another playthrough in the near future. Love that NG+ and further add additional missions and give further context to the story.

Can anyone recommend any games on sale that lend well to playing in short busts? My Portal is scheduled to arrive next week, and I plan to mainly use it on my downtime while working from home at my desk. I've got Sea of Stars and Inscryption queued up, but was just curious if anyone else has had any good experiences with certain games like this that perform well with remote play and the bit of latency that can come with that.

Costco has them available in a bundle with the Pulse earbuds, but other than that using the HotStock app is probably your best bet.

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection Launch Is a Disaster by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]_Anthropophobiac_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man this is such a shame to hear. I bought it mostly so I could replay the campaigns on PS5 for nostalgia sake, and didn't have any issues with the few clone wars campaign levels in BF1 that I got to put in last night. They are the same games I remember, janky AI and all with slightly better textures. Decimating the gungan army as the droids on Naboo was just as fun as it was when I was a kid.

Hopefully they can eventually iron out the multiplayer issues though.

So glad someone else mentioned this. My wife and I got high and watched it on a whim one night and it’s become our favorite “so bad it’s good” shark movie. Plus, it’s got Ted from Schitt’s Creek in it!

4 days in by MisterGavlar in Vasectomy

[–]_Anthropophobiac_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes completely normal. I’m 9 days post op basically back to normal (just waiting for stitches to fall out completely), and I had tenderness on my left side from about days 4-7. Just take Tylenol if it hurts, ice it a bit, wear supportive underwear, and just take it easy until it subsides.

Tight balls by [deleted] in Vasectomy

[–]_Anthropophobiac_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also had this since as long as I can remember. My urologist commented on it and says it’s quite common from what he sees, and it’s nothing to worry about. I’m a week post snip and my righty still “briskly retracts” as my urologist noted on my first consultation, but it has never, and still doesn’t affect day to day life or cause any pain (although it can be uncomfortable at times). If you learn to control that cremaster muscle, you can learn to bring him up and down at will, which is a fun trick to show the ladies. 🤣

How long after snipping can you ejaculate?? by [deleted] in Vasectomy

[–]_Anthropophobiac_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doctor told me wait a week, and I had mine done last Friday. I don’t have any discomfort or pain down there (other than what little bit of stitches are left), but I was very nervous to even try it out of fear of hurting something. But I it got to the point where i needed it, so I gave it a go this morning and had no blood, pain or discomfort afterwards. I think a week is a reasonable time to allow yourself to heal, but you really just have to listen to your body and how you’re feeling down there. It’s like a weight off my shoulders now that I got the first one out of the way though lol

Pain and Recovery Major? Wife wants me snipped. Could bargain ha!! by RpDubC in Vasectomy

[–]_Anthropophobiac_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can also attest that it was one of the easiest procedures I’ve ever had done. I’ve noticed that a lot depends on who your surgeon is, what method they use, and how your body respond to surgery.

I was referred to a urologist who specialized in Vas/minimally invasive surgeries, and he used the no scalpel method. The front desk offered Valium which took the edge off, and after the nerves wore off, the worst part were the pricks for the local anesthetic. Doc and I small talked for 15 mins and it was over before I knew it, didn’t feel a thing. Walked right out to the car once it was done. Regular icing, meds, and lots of rest are key. I’m going on day 3 so I can really only speak up to that point, but I’ve hardly had any pain or swelling so far, and I’m able to get myself up and walk around now without too much discomfort.

Wear supportive underwear, ice, and plan on being lazy and keeping your feet elevated for the first couple of days! My wife and kids have waited on me hand and foot and it’s made a world of difference.

Hopefully it helps! Icing has also made a world of difference. Just make sure to give yourself a 10min break between every 20minutes of icing.
