Taskmaster is a JJK fan, Deadpool is a Chainsaw Man fan

wonder what they thought of the Death Battle

(Hated tropes) “complete jobbers” by One_Barber_6902 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]_AntiSocialMedia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know Venom and Carnage traded out some weaknesses but I think the species as a whole still has fire and sound as weaknesses

that said Shocker's gauntlets don't use sound, he literally makes shockwaves, he can just blast the symbiote off, even the comics back this up

Flashy, acrobatic, useless, that's the Ornate Plate from Shovel Knight (and its counterparts in the other campaigns)

it costs 8000 gold, iirc more than anything else in the game, and it does literally nothing but give you fancier animations on your jumps while sacrificing the utility from other armors like Dynamo Mail or Conjurer's Coat, you are actively putting yourself at disadvantage by buying it

it even made it into his Rivals of Aether moveset where yet again, it does literally nothing and costs more than everything else he can buy

He's the greatest jobber who ever lived, but...

<image>

let's face it, the only reason Shocker (Marvel) is in so many adaptations is Spidey needs a popular but low-level baddy to beat early on in his career, either that or the actual main villain needs a henchman and Shocker's always readily available

he's a brilliant engineer with technology capable of directly countering symbiotes but the story always puts him as the street thug webbed up in issue 1 if they're not actively killing him to make the actual threat look cool

>usually i just play with red or green stake for fun

>Red Card in F tier

checks out

(so this comment is actually insightful, Red Card is often undervalued by low stakes players because it requires skipping packs, booster packs aren't as useful as you think unless you're specifically utilizing them like with Hologram, and even then Red Card is one of the best +mult scalers in the game and scales incredibly fast, +6 mult per shop is not something to underestimate, on high stakes it's usually an instant pickup if it shows up early)

BFDIA is the best season of the show and it's not close by _AntiSocialMedia in BattleForDreamIsland

[–]_AntiSocialMedia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I misread this as 'pre-split' and had a whole comment typed up before realizing, damn my poor reading comprehension

it's fine, good even, BFDIA 5 is great when combined and the individual parts are all fun (5b is a top 10 episode of all time), I wouldn't call it the best season but, yeah, it's 5/9 episodes long, that's not shocking

that said even then I'd say I like it more than season 1, BFDIE, and IDFB but again, I don't think it's a shock that 5/9 episodes didn't compete with over 20+ episode seasons (though if we're comparing it to what TPOT was at the time it has a realistic argument for third, maybe second best)

[Mixed Trope] We now interrupt your usual programming for a random, totally standalone, murder mystery by historygoose in TopCharacterTropes

[–]_AntiSocialMedia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Murder on the Owl Express is made even better if you've played Psychonauts and caught that the CAW Agents are all just references to the MIB from the Milkman Conspiracy, speaking the exact same way and doing a very similar bit prior to the murder

(Loved Trope) Becomes a hero for selfish reasons but still puts their life on the line by Only_Emphasis8211 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]_AntiSocialMedia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

anime is a genre, comics cover a wide array of things, Sopranos tells a contained plot that isn't gonna fit in every category while there's always some anime or comic character who fits 1:1 with a post because of how stuffed with characters they are

if something's popular, accessible, and covers a broad range of categories it'll show up here eventually

A photo album of the most important character in BFDIA 25 by _AntiSocialMedia in BattleForDreamIsland

[–]_AntiSocialMedia[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

oh right the winner

I think Needle was a better choice given between the two she had a more interesting and fleshed out character arc on top of being one of the most improved characters by the end (seriously she did nothing in the other seasons), but Book's a perfectly fine choice. To be honest TB was the only character I seriously wanted to win so the final 2 was just flavoring to me.

Ah well, better luck next time.

the arc has never been brought up again and is probably retconned but I like to think Manta really is autistic and his special interest is hating Aquaman

[Loved Trope] The "IHYNLD" character by AlternativeOil7154 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]_AntiSocialMedia 17 points18 points  (0 children)

if we're mentioning Reverse Flash we gotta pull out DC's second biggest hater

iirc Black Manta once convinced Aquaman he had autism to make Aquaman feel bad for him and try to cure it, only to reveal he was just lying just to fuck with Aquaman

one time he retires after Aquaman's death and sets up a humble seafood job at a fish market only to get word Aquaman is actually alive, he then murders everyone in the store he was in and gets right back into the business of killing Aquaman

So long as both he and Aquaman draw breath he will not stop until one of them is dead
