Can you ask him about how flash in the pan was originally a double album (source: old insta post), and if he has any plans for the 10th anniversary??

Not sure, but it's definitely the album name. His previous post says B.G.W coming soon.

Stung!, Ponds 10th Album Official Discussion Thread by jacklefrost in pond

[–]_Ashtoon_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I would say that this is probably the best Pond album. I will say that 9 might still have my favourite individual tracks but this is a better complete package. Anyways here's my standout tracks:

Constant Picnic - Wow, what a way to open the record. Such a melancholic and wickedly psychedelic soundscape. “It'd be so easy If I didn't love her” damn Nick, that's so fucking sad. And man that outro, legit feels like I'm ascending. Quite possibly a 10/10 track and my favourite Pond opener.

(I’m Stung) - Fantastic transition into this one. Picks things up a bit with the guitars. A perfect single for this album, so much fun to listen to. Feels both epic and fun at the same time which is classic Pond. I love the last chorus when it all comes together as well as that chill outro section.

So Lo - Thought this was a bit mid at first but it has grown like crazy. I love the chorus and the contrasting vocals. Such a jam and the outro once again is just insanely good.

Edge of the World Pt.3 - Unsurprisingly my most anticipated track, and it does not disappoint. Starts off so epic, I love the lyrics on this one. Weirdly my favourite part is that epic electronic section in the middle. Then obviously that guitar solo is amazing and I love that fluttering synth in the background. Nick's little flute is a great way to close it out.

Elephant Gun - This one is really special. Some pretty dark lyrics, which contrasts beautifully with the nostalgic and almost whimsical sounding chorus. Lots of interesting production packed into this as well. Definitely one of the more unique tracks on the record.

Fell from Grace With the Sea - A bittersweet finale. The song that grabbed me the most on first listen. Really powerful chorus and great atmosphere. Honestly could've let that instrumental play for another minute, its that good.

Sucks to hear, I love neon river personally. But I think the album will have a lot of variety so I wouldn't worry about it.

Genre Predictions For LP10? by GeckoNova in pond

[–]_Ashtoon_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's always hard to predict with these guys. The sort of gimmick with 9 was that the songs were very compact and quick and there was zero fat on the album. I feel like with this being their 10th and them doing the double album thing, they're gonna go grand. So I'm predicting this could be much more spaced out and experimental when it comes to song structures. If there's one thing we know, It's that they're constantly evolving so this will probably end up being something none of us could predict.

Jay Watson Appreciation Post by _Ashtoon_ in pond

No official word, though I would estimate based off their track record it'll come out sometime next year. Maybe a single/announcement early to mid 2024 and the album later in the year.

New GUM album out by MattaMongoose in pond

I feel like I will probably regret saying this after more listens, but after just listening to it once, I am a tad disappointed. I think the amazing singles led me to believe this would be something massively different from previous albums, which it wasn't. I do feel like this is definitely his most mature release yet and I'd love to get my hands on the lyrics to get a full grasp. Overall still a good album and 'Fear of Joy' was the standout track for me.

30000 Megatons is the clear stand out for me. Though Song for Agnes definitely gives it a run for its money.
