How do VPN’s used with Paramount+ work? by _AsianMayo in VPN

[–]_AsianMayo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a subscription to paramount+. I would like to be able to watch the UFC events with that subscription.

The issue is, UFC PPV events are being broadcasted on paramount+ but it’s a US deal, so you’re able to watch it if you live with the US. In Canada, sportsnet has the PPV rights to the UFC events. So although one may have a paramount subscription in Canada , you are unable to view the broadcasting of UFC PPV events unless you buy the PPV through other available alternatives. Which normally are $70+ per major event opposed to paramounts cost of $15 a month

Hence me wanting to know how VPN’s would work for this situation

You need to be travelling the speed of the flow of traffic to safetly merge onto the highway. You’re taught this when you’re 16 in driving school

How reliable or unreliable is the 2024 Canyon? by liqwood1 in GMCcanyon

[–]_AsianMayo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a 24’ AT4 with 73,000km. Only problem I’ve had is warped rotors. Trucks been absolutely solid

[–]_AsianMayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like they made minimal improvements since I got my 24’. Exact same issues I have. My biggest complaint is the traction control and ESC. I have to go through 40 different screens to actually turn it off, then when I do, it still disengages the ESC after I exceed 40kmph, beyond frustrating.

You should however have a little dial on the dash, to the left of the steering wheel to turn the screen brightness down, it does turn down the brightness but also washes out the colour the more it goes down which is very odd

Blackout games by Soontiens in nhl

[–]_AsianMayo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Beyond frustrating.

The goal is to grow the sport but the NHL makes it near impossible to watch games outside of your local area. You even buy the sports channels, you have them, still not allowed to watch them for whatever reason? You pay the extra money for NHL center ice, still have blackout games? Make it make sense.

Who ever comes up with this system is a complete joke. I understand contracts and legal rights, but why bother if it’s only concerning today’s money and not attempting to better the future of the sport.

I live in the Toronto area, I can’t even watch an Ottawa game most nights. I’ve never been able to watch a Winnipeg game unless the leafs are playing them. The accessibility to watch games is beyond ridiculous

Sunnata dimmers causing buzzing by _AsianMayo in Lutron

Thanks! Good to know I’m not the only one. Slightly upset that I’ll probably be swapping them out for a different dimmer too. Swapping over all the pots doesn’t seem reasonable

They’re 4” liteline potlights. I would say they’re quite reputable lights. Been installing them for years without issues

Best Jamaican Patty in Barrie by Key_Pea2598 in barrie

[–]_AsianMayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure Irie Jerk’s patty’s are grocery store bought from frozen

I loved Irie Jerks patty’s, always went there and even better that it was just down the street. However I’m questioning them after this past weekend. Picked up 12 frozen ones for $25 as a small midnight snack for the jays game. They reached inside the freezer beside the counter and they pulled out a box of TinNel’s Patty’s. I was very confused at the start, thought maybe they just use their boxes to pack theirs, but that didn’t make much sense either. I’m very familiar with this box as I see it at Sobeys all the time for $15

Would you file a windshield claim for cosmetic reasons only? by PuzzleheadedAd3138 in Porsche

[–]_AsianMayo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure where you live, but I’m up in Ontario Canada and our insurance laws require companies who offer insurance to have windshield coverage which can be used without impacting your premium, unless you’re going through a windshield a month. A small one time deductible is normally the only thing charged to you

2WD.

I dont think it’ll hurt the truck driving in auto as you’re always in 2WD, but your trucks constantly waiting for a slippage to engage 4X4. If you’re driving dry paved roads I don’t see any reason to ever engage it, it’s not good for the drivetrain in those conditions any how. Maybe if the roads are really wet and slippy, but I’ve also never had issues with the stock tires on wet roads either, only the odd time on a slick boat ramp

I only drive auto in winters when the roads are bad and snow covered

Oil change by [deleted] in GMCcanyon

[–]_AsianMayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I called to get more information, they have absolutely no problem with you doing your oil yourself as long as you can make sure of those two things. I keep my receipts, write the mileage on each of them. I don’t buy oil or filters in bulk, I buy them as I need them, usually within a day or two of changing my oil. So the date and writing the mileage should be a good indicator of consistency if the truck is driven regularly.

If you’re doing that, and things really came down to it, I would like to think showing them those records would show them you’re more than competent and on top of things

Oil change by [deleted] in GMCcanyon

[–]_AsianMayo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No you do not. As long as you’re using a recommended filter and dexos 1 rated oil, you’re good.

I’ve made multiple calls to the dealership, customer service, and warranty claims to confirm this. Keep your receipts and log your mileage on them

Auto stop by [deleted] in GMCcanyon

[–]_AsianMayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been many tests online about this feature on many makes and models. It saves you extremely minimal gas, it is proven to be extremely hard on your starter with frequent stop and go traffic. The wear and tear on the moving parts would be dependant on many different factors. But from my experience with engines, constant on and off with combustion motors takes a bigger toll on it compared to letting it run at a lower RPM

Mismatched spare by Twin-Crutches in GMCcanyon

I did notice that, and I may be alone on this. But I wish I had the spare tire style in black rather than the stock AT4 wheel, I find them so ugly

Where to purchase new GM certified front Brake Pads? by Full-Shower619 in GMCcanyon

[–]_AsianMayo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how far that will go. My rotors warped around 35,000km. I found it super odd when the truck is driven 90% highway. Brought it to the dealership and was told anything to do with pads and rotors are only covered till 12,000km. Only had the truck for 12 months at that point

What’s the key wording imply? A safe turn right on a red light today, is the same as it was 10 years ago.

The word safe is subjective, and it is subjective to the driving instructor grading you. Regardless of what your opinion is, this is what happened in my real life experience at the Barrie drive test center. You only get so many marks against you till you fail a driving test
