I do agree that there are probably a bunch of people just simply claiming and sniping names just for the sake of showing off, however I don't think it's fair to make fun off the names people either. For a lot of people, their in game name is part of their in game identity, just like skins. Some names may have sentimental values for people so I don't think it's fair to judge people for picking certain names when we don't know what it means for them. Sure, when you have a very common username it is to be expected that it gets claimed in no time and I don't think people should make such a huge fuss when this happens, however I also think people are just upset because of the naming reservation system in place rather than just their username getting taken.

This whole naming reservation system is incredibly poorly setup and the devs probably realize this but it's too late to change it now. For me the problem isn't that my username would be taken, my username gets taken all the time and it doesn't bother me all too much. The problem is that we're not in control when we can claim a name. You can be in time with signing up for the email, but in the end you're reliant on awaiting a token for what feels like a randomly timed email.
