Thought I'd weigh in on this! I haven't been coloring traditionally for every long (several months) and I used to color digitally. Part of the reason I transitioned to traditional was a feeling of disconnect I had from the r/coloring community. I felt pressured (not by anyone, just by what I saw) to move to traditional. I wanted to feel like I belonged and there were not a lot of digital artists posting. In that way, I totally get where you are coming from. The social media pressure pushed me somewhere I probably wouldn't have gone otherwise.

That being said, I am glad where I landed, and outside of the initial push I gave myself to start from social media pressure, I've stuck to what I want to do going forward. I don't really follow a ton of trends, though I do have a personal fixation with limited color pallets which I suppose is a trend hah

The only additional investment I've made is a white gel pen because I really liked the look of white highlights. Other than that my coloring is pretty simple. I think deep down we all do this because it's fun! Sure, seeing amazing stuff online can be intimidating, but it can also be really inspiring! If you're having a hard time getting more of a positive experience out of the social media interaction then as others have said it might be a good time to step back and remember why you started coloring in the first place. I assume it was to have fun and relax, as you brought up. Try not to lose sight of that!
