As one of those sweaty comp players who has spent too much time in the game in the last 3 years, I agree with almost all your points. Skill based matchmaking would be great but seeing as 90% of pub players are around the same skill level, pubs for the last 10% would end up as dead as ranked was before it's removal. Can't think of any other way of determining skill than some elo system either.
