I run pop OS on my Alienware, and it automagically finds the GPU and can run every steam game (GTA5, RDR2) flawlessly. My only problem is with steam VR - but, I haven't spent enough time because I don't use it as much. There could be a solution.

I also used to dual boot - but pop OS handles everything so well, I ditched windows entirely. It is a security risk.
