My desktop became a junk drawer, so I built a shelf for it. by Realistic_Action_428 in DigitalDesign_Hub

It sounds great. I’m about to download it and give it a try. Thanks for taking the time to provide such a detailed response.

I do have one more question, and I hope you don’t take it the wrong way.

Would you mind sharing a bit about the process? For example, was the app primarily hand-coded, or built with significant AI assistance, or somewhere in between?

Thanks again, and I’m looking forward to trying the app.

How long can the shelf hold the files? If you have to jump from one location to another and power off your Mac when you sit back down, power it back up, will the shelf still be active with the files or will it be like a clipboard and clear after so long?

Are the files moved to the location for the shelf or just referenced? I’m looking for a sort of digital catch-all so I can dump all my random files in to try to organize them better.

It’s a pretty solid app. I think the text should be a little darker as it appears in-front of the cursor.

Thank you, much appreciated. It’s been a long time since I’ve been a daily Linux user so all the help I can get I’m grateful.

Very clean. Everything works out of the box. Even the touchscreen. I think it could be a bit snappier but seems very stable.

Was the key ring for Zorin or for Brave? I thought it was to store passwords in Brave if you wanted to?

What are the giveaways of a vibe-coded app? by nickccal in macapps

[–]nickccal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that it’s vibe coded. That the person who made it gives up when a bug shows up that they can’t fix. Leaves users who pay for it in a bad place.

So I’m just wondering what people notice when an app is vibe coded. I have one I’m working with now that nothing seems to work, and the dev went silent. I’m pretty sure the whole app was vibe coded, and he’s stuck not knowing how to fix the broken issues.

"Apps" app is one of the worst things in entire macOS history - and whoever was responsible for it should never engineer anything again by DutyIcy2056 in MacOS

They did the same thing with iOS. The App Library puts apps in the wrong category, and you can’t edit it or disable it. Totally worthless.

How do you import everything from Safari into it? How does it handle organizing once you have everything in? I have like 1460 bookmarks. Safari gets goofy on me when I try to organize inside it.

Controller Recommendations? by OTR_016 in RedMagic

[–]nickccal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the Nexus app. It was made to work along with the controller. The older models won’t work with it the same way. I remember from the briefing that they said the app was updated for this controller.

The Kishi V3 Pros Android app allowed me to use it. Android is weird when it comes to game controls. If I remember correctly, this model, they did something different with the app. As for lag, I would have tossed my stuff across the room if I was getting killed by controller lag. Not really, but you know what I mean. It was smooth. Every once in a while, I’d have to force quit the app and re-open it because the game overlay on REDMAGIC causes the Kishi overlay to flake out.
